Disney Meetings: 4-page mandatory legal release form

Hello!

We are heading to Disney this fall for a conference. Only one person in our party will be attending the conference. With that being said, Disney is requiring each member in our party to sign a 4-page legal form (see attached image of part of the first page) and I really don't know what to make of it. It's been a bit since we've been to WDW, but I do not believe anything like this is required for entry, or at least it didn't. I'm fine with the COVID-exists-everywhere stuff, but this seems to stretch a bit further than that ... .

Any thoughts? Has anyone else received this?

Wow. I don't recall anyone sharing that on this board. Maybe only for guests going to a conference? My guess is someone filed a claim or lawsuit and this is in response to that. Just an uneducated guess.

I did think about that, too!

They are currently requiring all persons (my spouse, me, me on behalf of my children, and guests staying in other rooms) who are not even attending to sign individual documents. It stretches to anything and everything on Disney property, which doesn't make sense as everyone will be walking in the same halls, attending the same restaurants as regular resort guests. The mention of all communicable and infectious diseases seems like over-reach and I have no idea what to make of it.

If you just hop onto the disneyworld site and make a dummy booking, and look at the terms & conditions on there, are they they same / similar? It’s quite likely everyone is just agreeing to these as part of the online booking process without actually reading any of it.

Good idea, I'll check

These are becoming VERY common for everything, the lawyers have been looking for ways to sue deep pockets and COVID-19 is another potential gold mine of an opportunity. Time will tell if it works out that way or not.

I can see that for sure. It just feels excessive for things beyond COVID?

I expect the fine print on the new Annual Passes and ticket to alert guests to change in legal claim to request partial refunds. Disney will not be so generous next time with granting extensions due to Covid or any other complaint. Buyer Beware
Actually I am surprised they grant refunds or exchange to product purchased from the local ticket brokers currently.
I guess hotels will be changing/updating their cancel policy . More fine print .
