Disney Meet and Greet Upcoming Photo Changes

When I went to redeem my Visa photo cards for the free 5x7s the PP CM said starting Aug 1st they will no longer be allowing guests to use the free cards for PP passes taken anywhere other than the actual Meet and Greet location. He told me I could select any now but then told me about the Aug 1st change.

He said even though that has been the policy all along they have been allowing guests to pick any photos from their PP card and get the free 5x7s. Their ability to allow this ends July 31st.

I asked if there are any plans to expand the character selection so it isn't always Chip and Dale or Pluto and he said no the contract with Visa is for those characters only.

Glad I got in under the wire. We had 16 cards for free photos and I certainly wouldn't have wanted 16 of just Pluto and Chip and Dale.

I doubt I'll waste my time and energy to go back to the Meet and Greet every day if I am limited to only those photos.

Of course this is all subject to change and at the whim of any CMs. LOL But I thought I'd give others a heads up on what I was told.

Not sure how you had 16 cards? But we did a family photo w/ each character for the first two days. Then we did pictures of just the kids with the characters. Something to consider.

We had 16 cards because we were there for 8 days and I have two Disney Visa cards.

I didn't ask if we could get any of the pictures on our PP for free, the CM suggested it and then told us they can do this through 7/31. This is exactly what happened during our trips last year sans the info about 8/1.

If my group would have been larger mixing up the people in the picture would have been fine, but there were only two of us. 16 pictures of the two of us together and individually wouldn't be worth the walk to the M&G every day.

The M&G is in the Hollywood section of DCA just to the right of the Monsters INC attraction. It opens 30 minutes after the park opens and they are there for 1 and a half hours. The switch off between the character every 30 minutes and they were starting with Pluto the days we were there.

They tell us that every time we go, lol. I don't remember ever being given an exact date, but we're always told that the policy is going to change.

Until they turn me down I don't know that I'd believe it, lol.

Great info! They always asked us to choose from the M&G photos and we're going in Sept so guess we won't get to try and use the freebie for other ones. Love Chip and Dale but will be nice to try and catch Pluto too.
