Oh Well!! I learned a hard and a not too expensive lesson so, I thought I would share my experience.

Last night I bid on Ebay for 4 Counter lunch or dinner vouchers for DW. At this point I am high bidder at $60.36 plus 1.50 S&H.

I found the same vouchers on Connections123.com for 11.25 a piece or a total of $45.00. You need to sign up for membership here but if you cancel within 30 days there is no charge for the membership trial period.

Granted bidding on Ebay for the first time was more fun then just ordering vouchers but the whole idea was to save money. My husband laughed at me and offered to give me $20. just to show how silly it was to be upset about the auction price which is still a decent deal considering how much the counter food costs.

Connections123 is also very controversal and there are many posting here about it.

Connections character breakfast prices are 17.75 for adults and 11. for kids incl. tax and tip. This is a savings for the two Princesss breakfasts for adults (19.99) and not so for the kids (9.99).

Hope this information helps someone else.
Have a great trip

Hi. I wouldn't worry so much about ending up winning them for the $60.36 if there's still time left on the auction. Most auctions have people bid right at the last minute (or seconds!). I joined Connections a while ago for a $1 trial fee I think it was, ordered some vouchers and then cancelled my membership when I started reading about all the problems people were having. Anyway, long story short they charged my card anyway, took a while to clear up and it was absolutely NOT worth the hassle for saving a few dollars on vouchers. Good luck whichever you decide to do!

Thanks-- I read the post about the problems ....I have also had to deal with getting credit for many things with the credit card company so I do not really mind. The company we ordered all our bathroom cabnets from went under. We had charged the deposit which as you can guess, thousands of dollars. We were buiding our house at the time. We got it all back.
If Connections charges my account I will just not pay it and fill out the one forn my credit card company sends for these things.

Hurray!!I did not win the auction!!!!

Thank you all for your suggestions.

I am recovering from surgery and have way too much time on my hands. Hopefully it will not lead to problems.

Jeannie:

While you have all of this extra time to kill be sure to check out the menus from WDW. It even has the counter service menus--you can see how much money you would have "lost" if you had "won" that auction!

http://www.wdwig.com/menu/menus.htm

We bought the vouchers from connections as a way to pre-pay for our meals. You only save a $1 or so per meal with them.

I have been going through the menues so I could see how much we would spend on each meal. So far with the exception of a few locations in World SHow Case I did not find any place where we would spend more then $8.50 before tax.

My other concern is that I would want to "get my monies Worth" and therefore eat more than I need. I never have deseret at lunch, etc. I would hate to gain weight on a Diseny Vacation. ( There food is not worth the pounds)

I will continue to ponder the question of vouchers or no vouchers.

Spirit Feather--You said you baught the vouchers so your meals were preapid. Why did you want your meals prepaid?

Thanks

Jeannie

We wanted the meals prepaid because:

We did not want to carry excess cash.
I am horrible about "saving" money. (If I have it, I'll spend it on other stuff).

I usually do not get dessert at lunch either, but go ahead and get a cookie or something for the kids to split. I have found the one complete meal will usually feed both of the kids and I for lunch.

I hope the menus helped!

Hey Jeannie,

glad to see someone from New Mexico on these boards! Not too many of you around , it seems.

I have one comment on counter service meals, split, split, split,

Also, you don't need to buy the sandwich basket (with fries). You can just ask for the sandwich only at most of these places. Saves a buck and who need the calories. ff aren't that good most places anyways.

If you get any vouchers, I recommend eating at the counter service location in Morocco - I bought a half chicken with side, and an EXTRA side of cous cous, got a drink and dessert (all of which would have cost @ $20) - it was delicious and would have easily fed two...or more! :)

There are very few of us New Mexicans period. I also think must Nms got to Disneyland because it is closer.
We are going to Florida for a family get together in Key Biscayne so we will go to DW form there.

I am still thinking about the vouchers. I think we mught try 2 just to see how it worls out. I know we would eat at a counter at least once or twice.

Cash is not an issue for us since we try to charge everything on our cc for the miles. We are hoping to head to New Zealand and Australia and would love to be able to upgrade to Biz class for the long flights.

thanks for all the advice. I am so ready for a vaction. Since I have been ill we have not been on vacation since last August (10 months in bed prior to that trip) Unless you count 2 months in the Mayo Hospital in Pheonixin Novl and Dec..

Just a month to go.
