Disney Marathon

:sunny: but not running. I wish I had been a bit more organized, then I could at least walk the 1/2 marathon. I teach indoor cycling so maybe I'll bike it :hyper: just kidding!

Good luck to all and we'll be waving you on ... maybe if there is any room ... I may be joining you ... who knows? What time are the runs??

We are staying at OKW the 3rd -16th.:sunny: :wave2:

The 1/2 marathon closed to new entries in mid-March, about 10 or so days after it opened to registration. The marathon closed about two months ago. If you are not registered already, you won't be able to run. The 5K on Saturday is still open, I think.

My husband will be running the 1/2 and my son and I will be doing the 5K. We're looking at doing the 10K in October.

We're staying at VWL.

::yes:: Yep, already knew the answer, sadly to late. :(

I'll be waving when you all pass by running/walking and will have to get some of the lime green attire :teeth:

Happy Holidays everyone and God bless :wave2:

Pretty excited about the race. My sister and I are doing the 1/2. I am a little behind, after a knee injury last month. My poor sister dropped her laptop on her foot a few weeks ago. So we are just looking to finish. WE are staying at OKW w/ Mom and Dad. See you all there.pirate:

How crazy are the parks during marathon weekend?

I didn't find out about the marathon til after I bought my plane tickets. I was really worried but then the following week I got a letter from my sister-in-law in St. Louis telling us that she is running the full marathon so it will be fun to see her there. She was going to come to MA for Thanksgiving but got the flu and before that she sprained her ankle yet she's back on schedule and did two 20 mile runs. Not bad for a first timer!

We'll be at the Poly Jan 6th til 12th. Celebrating my DS's 3rd birthday at the Crystal Palace with Pooh on the 10th.

Calico I see you're from Welesley, do you run at Babson? I graduated there a long time ago...Just keep thinking of the scenery you'll see on your real marathon!

Hello lovesdumbo

Yes, it is indeed a small world after all. I'm on the faculty at Babson, I've been here since 1997. From your tone, it sounds like you graduated well before my arrival.

I love working at the College, and the indoor track is a nice alternative, safe and dry, but I'm ready for some different scenery. I just finished a 7.5 miler, 60 laps, and I've about had it. I'm very excited about running in the warmth, on a perfectly flat course, as well as going through EPCOT and the MK.

Cheers

I'll be there! This is my 6th Disney Marathon and 10th overall. Must be a DIS thing because my training has been a bit behind, as well. It's always fun, anyway and the goal, for me, is to finish. Good Luck Racers...

I was wondering where they have the marathon in disney?/ Is it in the parks?? Hotels are sold out!! Im scared it is going ot be a zoo!! Ohwell being in Disney is better then not being in Disney even if its crowded!! :)

And it starts waaaaay early in the AM. The 1/2 marathon is over in about 3 hours. The full marathon lasts about 6 for the slowest runner.
