Hi Everyone, I was hoping someone who has sailed recently on the DM or who has dealt with this in the past could answer this as my family and I are sailing soon on the DM in one of the rooms that was recently upgraded to Concierge during this past dry dock and I was wondering if we still get all the perks that the Concierge guests receive ie getting to use Concierge areas on the ship, getting into the shows early, etc etc? (I did receive an email stating that we will have access to Concierge services during your sailing)

I have not recently sailed on the Magic, but I've not heard of any Concierge passengers NOT getting any Concierge benefits, nor could I see DCL not offering advertised Concierge benefits. Dry dock and updating/renovating rooms would have no direct effect on 'intangible' Concierge benefits (like anytime embarkation, early seating for shows, etc.).

Plus, Disney told you you would have access to Concierge services during your sailing, so I'm curious why you think you wouldn't.

Well, did you pay for a concierge room or are you one of the lucky people who already had that room booked when Disney upgraded it?
Ohhhhhhhhhh now I get what OP is asking. I was confused why they would think they wouldn't get Concierge benefits in a Concierge stateroom. I'm gathering they booked a 'regular' stateroom and lucked into it being upgraded to Concierge during dry dock.

Still, if they received an email stating they would have access to Concierge services during the sailing, to me that seems proof enough). But it is a less cut-and-dried situation than I originally thought.

Here is a cruise line blog:

https://disneycruiselineblog.com/2023/02/disney-magic-converting-11-staterooms-to-concierge-level/

and it says:

"According to Disney, guests with existing reservations will not impacted by this change. However, these staterooms will continue to be Category 4A staterooms for available sail dates prior to May 5, 2023 and will not include Concierge level perks."

But that date has come and gone.

Did you receive a generic email from DCL or a specific email from Concierge Services?

I am asking because when I called and spoke with a cast member it was implied that we might not get all the benefits concierge guests receive because we were upgraded by Disney and I was confused by the email because it made it seem like we would get the benefits so I was hoping that someone who is in the same boat could clarify... :)

The room we selected was getting refurbished to Concierge during Magics dry dock this past May so I received an email notifying me that my room was becoming concierge and that we would be upgraded and they said "This means you will have access to concierge services during your sailing." But I am confused as each CM keeps telling me something different so I was hoping someone could clarify.

Thank you I did not see the blog but I did receive this email from Disney:
"Thank you for booking a Disney Cruise Line vacation. We are delighted you will be joining us aboard the Disney Magic and are reaching out with important information about your cruise vacation.

We are planning to convert several staterooms to concierge staterooms on the Disney Magic. As a result, the stateroom you’re currently assigned will be converted from a Category 4A, Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah, to a Category 3A, Concierge Family Oceanview Staterooms with Verandah. This means you will have access to concierge services during your sailing.

When it comes time to book your cruise activities, a Concierge Specialist will reach out to assist you prior to your booking window.

Should you have questions about the concierge services, you may contact the Concierge team by emailing"

This is a majority of the email received from Disney but I keep getting different answers from different CM's so I was hoping someone with recent experience could clarify :)

Call center CMs unfortunately don't always have the correct info. If you received an email from DCL stating you would receive Concierge benefits, then I would believe that. If you are still doubtful, then I would email Shoreside (dcl.concierge.services@disneycruise.com) and confirm (unless that's where the original email came from).

Maybe someone else can chime in, but an email directly from Disney seems pretty sure to me.
