I just spoke with DCL, they expect the Disney Magic to arrive approx. 1 hour late, embarkation beginning at 2pm and departure at 6:30 am.

Thank you so much for the update. I have 16 family and friends on the Magic. This was the first cruise (and the last?) for ALL of them! I'm worried how things will be when they're off the ship; they now have to drive back to 'Jersey.

Doesn't look like she's in port yet, Here's a cam that shows the port, the close one is offline:

Across the top of the land part of the image is the port channel, the actual cruise terminals are on the left, the ocean is on the right. The ships stand out as very obvious as they are much taller than anything around them when they're there.

That is true they are now saying that they expect the Magic in at around 9:00 am - it stopped last night in Freeport for refueling. They still anticipate 2:00 embarkation and 6:30 pm departure. The Orlando Airport will be closed for hours due to runway and structural damage which will not permit the trams to operate to take passengers to the gate.

I just clicked on the above link and the carnaval ship is just coming into port at just after 8 this AM. Good Luck to all getting off the ships to get back home and all getting on the ships. Have a fun worry fre trip!

Well that's good.

I was watching the live net feed from News 2 Orlando last night and Orlando Intl had gusts over 105 and max sustained winds of 61. CNN this morning is pulling live feeds from Tampa and News 2 Orlando and they showed shots of the airport and it looked pretty beat up. :(

Doubletree Update ....8:30 am......

Lots of downed trees. Entire exterior surface of hotel wall is gone. Blew completely away. Fiber insulation scattered all over the lot. You can actually view the girders and back of drywall.

The metal fence and gate surrounding tennis courts is twisted, bent, and pulled away from asphalt. Very scary stuff.

Some cars damaged in parking lot.

Looks like a twister might've blown through here.

Magic just passed the Two Palms webcam. She'll be in about 9:10 or so.

Weather Channel just reported that Orlando Airport is closed for Arrivals and Departures until Noon.

You are all the best! Thank you so much for the updates. Pete, how would I view the Two Palms webcam you mentioned or is that what I'm looking at through the above link? Thank you!

She's on the link I posted above right now. :) By the way, I think the cam is turned a little bit; I don't know if you'll see it docked or not at this point. I know the Carnival ship is in already and it's not visible.

Twopalms is http://www.twopalms.com It's a live shot straight out to the ocean from the north end of Cocoa Beach. If a ship passed there, all you'll see is ocean now.

Here's the link for the Two Palms webcam. Normally you'll see the ships pass about 25-30 minutes after they depart the terminal.

This is the first time I've seen one inbound!

The Magic is much bigger than just about anything else in the current shot. She's already in port by now, as she was heading down the channel about 5 minutes ago.

And I am sure, my link is now also useless, the shot needs to be a little bit more to the left to show the cruise terminals.

what I saw was the 8:55 shot and when they took the next one at 9:01 it was gone. I saved the pic just in case it was. Thought someone on it would like to have it, IF it was even them!

Lorilori, your family probably had a blast on the cruise since the ship was out of the weather the whole time except for maybe the last hour or so. And my guess is the late arrival had more to do with port facilities than anything on the Magic. They probably knew last night they'd get in late so they got to sleep later this morning and be on deck to watch the docking (which I'm never up early enough to do).

The trip back may be a nore of a challenge since they have to drive right through the storm path in several places. Hopefully they're far enough behind it that the major hiways will be clear.

Prayers and pixie dust for their safe arrival home.

Great news! Weather has been hot and sunny and the seas calm. Little rain on way back to P Canaveral, but they are docked safely. Passengers still on board, so the Western cruise will be VERY Late leaving tonight.Thankfully, the cruise doesnt seem to have been affected at all. Am sure everyone had a great time.

PS: Reine..............just told Gem about R's news! She saw her this morning, but didnt know then! She is delighted for her and will try and catch up with her during the next couple of days to congratulate her personally. Think you and I should open a bottle to celebrate!heheh.
