Just wondering if anyone knows how the pricing works?!
I have the August 22nd cruise booked from Barcelona, for 2 guests, category 9C. We have another guest that has been hoping to join us, and we had been keeping an eye on the cost, and for most categories a third guest was costing $980+tax. All of a sudden the price of a third guest has shot up to nearly double at $1540+tax. The cruise a week later is still at the $980 price. We would have changed to that one except we already have our flights booked and paid for. We love DCl and have sailed with them for years, just finding it hard to justify paying nearly double for the extra guest.
Anyone else ever had a situation like this? Is it worth calling them up to see if there's anything they can do? Or are the prices just set in stone?

I think the ship is filling up...there are far less Med cruises in 2015 and 2016 as there is Norway and Baltic cruises and therefore these are filling up fast.

Also it is within UK School holiday times and they will be popular with the British.

I cant see its economic, the 7 nights do not go to Greece, where there could well be civil unrest and economic collapse by the month end.

We are getting close to those cruises now, the best time to add anyone would have been months ago.

3rd 4th people are OK and normally added at the tier rate you originally booked at but they may be getting full for 'safety' levels and pricing out 3/4th person to fill up the last cabins.

These things occur and I think with a far shorter Med season than last year any changes will be exaggerated.

Prices tend ot be set in stone but worth speaking to your TA mine helps on things like this, or if booked direct its worth a call but I do not think it would change.

Sorry cannot answer costing query, but just thought I would welcome you as we(myself , son daughter in law and grandson together with daughter and grandson will be onboard

Anytime you add a guest to your room it is at whatever the current rate is. If the current rate is $1540, that is what you will have to pay to add a third guest to your room. It stinks that it almost doubled in price. It's best to add everyone that could possibly go with you at the time of booking then drop them before the PIF date if they decide not to go.

That's great, only 59 sleeps to go! We've been counting for a very long time now. Just myself and my Mom on this trip, that is unless the cost of the third price guest drops dramatically.

That's ok. We know for future cruises now. Thanks so much for your reply!
