Spent 150 gems here too. Not crazy about it but could have been a lot worse

Need 1 more hat. I’ll do time skips before the end before I give in to spending the 50 gems. I sent everyone into storage to try that little trick of only collecting for cars/lightning. Didn’t work for me. Only 2 hats earned in 2 days.

I keep reading about that nonsense "trick" and chuckle every time someone posts that they actually bothered sending everyone home. Image if this was actually a thing and not just silly superstition? I've been playing since nearly the beginning, have never once done this, and have every character so far.

Got McQueen in my IOS game. Although, I did have to time skip for the last 3 Racing Numbers. Windows drops were, as usual, atrocious, and I wasn't going to spend 330 gems. But this is a new one for me, and a new low for Gameloft. In my Windows game (which I started about a month after the game launched), I don't have anyone capable of earning Mater ear hats at the moment. Only Penny in IOS because I apparently have the right building enchanted.

Got hat #2 at my final collection. Not spending 500 gems. Did t have 500 gems.

So no LM.

And now also can’t upgrade Mater at all. WTH GL? Why so hard?

Eh, it's fine. Better than Figment and logging in every day to get free tokens...

Other games I play do something similar. What I don't know is if this is "free" or if it will be like the Edna Mode thing which was an additional charge. If it is "free", then I will probably be "ok" with it. In the other games, there aren't any rewards that I wouldn't possibly get just from playing that specific game. It is more like bonus rewards, versus exclusive rewards (like how the Oogie Boogie attraction was at one point - you could only get it from winning/placing in a certain event).

Indeed. I do not have Hook yet which appears to be a huge problem. Need about 40 more gems. Should get some with the new update hut dang

I went to find a chest and collect the items. To my surprise, I received tokens for Smee. I got one of the common token, one of his hat token and one of his ear token. Will have to see how frequently this happens. I have a feeling he will take a long time to welcome and collect for.

This happened to me as well. I think the patch notes said something about a blue ribbon chest being dropped every sixth or eighth chest during this update, I think?, which must provide for Smee's tokens as well. I hadn't paid attention when opening initially, but after those dropped, I did notice that it was not either a bronze or silver chest.

EDIT: It appears the Blue Ribbon chest thing may have been activated early:

I didn't at first either. But I checked about an hour ago and saw his tokens in the Token shop. Maybe force quit the game and reload. I am using the update with iOS. Not sure if this has been made available on other platforms.

Hmmm. It's missing in Windows but OK in iOS. I'll look at Windows again tomorrow...

It didn't show for me in android until I force closed and re-opened the app. I also purchased Smee using elixir.
