I have a question about the Magic Express Shuttle. I plan on staying at Disney for the second half of my Orlando trip, and will be at a different hotel for my first half. The hotel I have for my 1st half has a free shuttle to/from the airport. I would like to use that to my benefit and therefore booked the Disney Shuttle with a flight # that has the time I would like to be picked up at that morning and my actual departing flight back home. I will obviously have my luggage with me and cannot have them pick it up at baggage claim. Is this OK? Can I take my own luggage? Will I have to show my airline ticket?
Thanks so much in advance..

yes, it sounds fine. no proof of your flight is required. all that's needed is a disney reservation and you'd need that to make the DME arrangements, so i'd say you're good.

Just to make sure I am understanding, did you book a phony reservation for pick up and then want to use a real reservation to return? DME does make certain you have checked in first and then process the return.

I would call DME and explain what you want to do and then see how to proceed. JMHO.

DME doesn't check in with the airline. he will be having DME deliver him to the resort, just not on the day he actually lands in Orlando.

The only requirements for using DME are:
being named on the reservation at a WDW owned-and-operated resort;

if taking the bus from MCO, it must be to THAT resort and be on the day of check-in;

if taking the bus from a resort, it must be the resort you are registered at, and be on the day of check-out;

making DME reservations.

A flight on either day in either direction is not required.

DME's direct # is 866-599-0951.

The OP is entitled to rides as enumerated above.

If your name is on the room reservation and you are registered with Magic Express, you can take the Express to and from the airport at ANY time during the reservation period. It does not have to be on the day of check-in and check-out. My sister came to join us during our last stay, she arrived a day after check-in and left a day before check-out. She used the Magic Express both ways!

Can you tell me how you did this? Me and one of my DS are arriving on 10/25. My other son is arriving on 10/27 and we are all leaving together on 10/30. Disney reservations just told me that he cannot use magical express from MCO since he is arriving on a different date.

Call DME directly and give them your son's flight number and arrival date. He will then receive DME vouchers and luggage tags. No problems!!! Sometimes the Disney reservation agents don't have all the rules straight when it comes to DME.
