Happy New Year! :hyper:

I've started preliminary research on Northern Europe cruise trips on the Magic. One of the options to accommodate four adults is a one-bedroom "concierge" stateroom. I'm aware of the limited "concierge" services on the Magic. However, my main concern is the location of the concierge rooms on the Magic - deck 8 - right below a very loud and bustling deck 8 (pools, restaurant, spa, fitness center, etc.). After reading specific stateroom reviews (with varying levels of noise reported), I have mixed feelings. A part of me thinks that spending so much $$$ on a stateroom that has the potential to be extremely noisy is not something that I would like to do. However, why would Disney put concierge rooms and suites (their most expensive staterooms) on this particular deck if the noise were that bad?

Curious to know what recent Magic cruisers think - especially those who actually stayed on Deck 8. Thanks in advance! :thumbsup2

We stayed on deck 8 -- not concierge though. We did hear some noise from feet running on the deck above and scraping of chairs being moved around. We weren't in the cabin enough during the day for it to be that bothersome. We didn't have any noise issues during the night.

We stayed on Deck 8 on the Wonder. I had read complaints about noise from deck chairs being moved and the early morning power washing on the pool deck, but we didn't hear anything (we were between the midship and aft elevators). We were in Alaska, so there may have been less activity on the pool deck than you would experience on other itineraries.

We subsequently stayed on Deck 6 on the Magic. While overhead noise wasn't an issue, the hallways were very noisy compared to Deck 8. On Deck 8 there are far fewer staterooms and guests, so there is less foot traffic, door slamming etc.

We stayed in 8034 on 7 night Eastern this past November on the Magic. We could hear some running, walking in heels, chairs, etc. Nothing that woke any of us up or disturbed us during the day. We like the layout of the midship 1 bedroom, but if u r very worried about noise I would book on further forward under the adult areas of deck 9. I wouldn't hesitate to book mid ship deck 8 again. In fact we already have for next year.

"Our" room on the classic ships is 8510. Right under the spa. Soooooo quiet! We loved it.

I would not stay right under the pools. I'm a light sleeper, though we use a sound machine app on my iPhone. Still, I would worry about it too much to deal with it.

Stayed in Concierge in
8032/8034/8532,
Also
8040/8564/8566/8568

On the Magic.

8030 on the Wonder.

No noise issues, ( light sleeper and good hearing )

And we are booked for a 12 night cruise in 8534 this summer paying an arm and a leg and I wouldn't do that if there were deck noise issues.

The biggest issue is the ding dong door bell, some cruisers find it funny to play knock down ginger ring your bell and run off.

Note, ALL rooms on ALL decks on ALL ships have some noise, they might be under a bar, under a restaurant, they might be near the engines, they might be near the sea and vibration of the waves, they might be near the cinema, the laundry, the elevators, all rooms have hangers that can move with the rock of the ship or have wood flex and click. And then there is the hurricane snoring next door or people running on any deck, or in any hall late at night.

We have stayed in 8552 on the Wonder and while we love the location, we did hear a lot off noise from the pool deck above. A lot of running feet and scraping chairs. It never woke me up or really bothered me, but it was definitely there.

We also sailed in 8084 and that is my new favorite room. Much quieter as it is below the buffet or employee service area behind the drink stations. So not nearly as much activity there.

Both of those rooms are close to some 1-bedrooms (if you are viewing a deck plan map), if that helps with picking the room you want.

We will be sailing in 8032 in October and I think the layout of that 1-bedroom is much more important to us than the noise we might hear from above (I think that room is under Cove Cafe outdoor seating - so I still expect to get some chair scraping noise, but hopefully not as many running feet) :thumbsup2

I have had 8032 twice and Mr Karl Holz was in it last summer next to us, I am sure he wouldn't like noise, yes directly under cove cafe its like part of your own mini concierge lounge nip up get snacks, no noise issues, the downsides in 8032 your door magnets get stolen and there is some ringing on the door bell, please people grow up! And I found parts of the room had difficulty connecting to the internet, I think thats because its directly below the CC and people use the ship internet there.

But no major noise issues.
