Disney Magic - Dec 10, 2011 - Western Caribbean Cruise - Sun, Fun and Beaches!

I'm not sure if we can handle the excitement for the next 3 1/2 months. It seems like all I do is research this or that. (thank you DIS).

I think a name would be great! Something holiday-ish Like "Twas the cruise before Christmas" or "We wish you a MAGIC Christmas". Or maybe more Disney?? drawing a blank only thing that keeps popping in me head is "mickeys very merry Christmas Cruise" but that is probably due to my sisters desire to do that on Dec. 9 before our cruise.

This is a good point! Most of the ones I thought of were holiday themed as well.

Oh Don't worry Renee, I'm not at all offended. My more disney blank was supposed to be non christmas but the only thing in my head was that christmas party.

How about "No worries the rum is NOT all gone!, Welcome to the Caribbean" Just kidding.

Do we have any castaway club members that are already able to book port adventures?? If so are there any new or different ones, not currently listed?

Sounds like we will just miss you. We will flying down Oct 22 and on the Dream Oct 23-27 and then BLT and MNSSHP Oct 27-31. I keep thinking is this REAL two cruises coming up. Pinch me!

Enabler- on the fence about the FE only because I don't understand- do we get specific families to exchange with like a Secret Santa or do we just get a list of folks participating and gift who we want from there?

I am not crafty so if I am in I have to start my fish extender like yesterday.

Sorry for the late response. For our last cruises, a list is provided for each cabin that is participating and then the names and ages in the cabin. Then to spread the cheer, everyone has a specific day to deliver. It is up to you whether you give one gift per cabin or something special for the adults and then for the kids. My daughter loved to go back to the cabin and see what special surprise she had waiting. FEs can be homemade or purchased. It is fun. We made pot holders with a special logo for the adults and treat bags filled with a few goodies.

Hi Guys,
I wanted to throw this out for consideration. How would you all feel about allowing everyone the flexibility to distribute their FE gifts on the day that works best for them? Can you see any problems with doing this? I'm suggesting that only because none of us know what each day will be like for us, whether we may be feeling rushed by a shore excursion, wanting to get down to an autograph session, a show, etc., and since the FE exchange is supposed to be fun, maybe having some flexibility would not cause any undue stress for anyone. What does everyone think of that? For the last 2 cruises I did, our group chose to do this, and it worked out so that each cabin received gifts each day of the cruise. Thanks, Kiki

(Use a winter theme, snow etc. maybe Mickey at Castaway Cay or something. Anyone good with photoshop??)

I really like all the names and slogans so far. I'm leaning towards Mickey's mates cruise Magically (I think that was right). I also really liked the pirate one but think this one allows for more creativity, not boxed into the pirate theme. That said I would be extremely happy with any of the options so far.

Thnaks Kiki. Question for you I may have missed it how many people are travelling in your party?? I am trying to work out my FE gifts and how many I need. I just hope they dont get squished in my suitcase in the 6 weeks before my cruise.

Hi Guys, I noticed there were questions regarding FE gifts, deadlines and getting the gifts ready, so I wanted to get your feedback.
On my last 2 cruises (One Christmas, another New years) our group decided to set the deadline to join at one month before sailing. Most everyone seemed OK with that. The reason for the month deadline was the cruises were not sold out and people joined the thread and expressed interest in the FE fairly close to the sailing date. There were cat 12's (which are now 11c's) offered close to the sailing date. So, we added some late participants since the cruise was so reasonable. Also, when we went past the paid in full date, we added some participants too. We ended up with 18 families participating, which was a nice group size.

I think we now have 12 participants on the FE list (possibly 9 participants, since, 3 have not posted since April).
I realize that we need time to plan/make the FE gifts, and Lauren and Ricky will be leaving for the US sometime in Nov.(?) So I just thought I would bring the deadline up for consideration. But I'm OK with a month or so- What do you guys think? Thanks, KikiMouse

How about an FE cut off date of Nov 1st? Maybe that would give everyone a little extra time to work on FE gifts during the busy holiday season
