Disney Magic - Dec 10, 2011 - Western Caribbean Cruise - Sun, Fun and Beaches!

I finally found this thread! For some reason, I must have been looking in the wrong lists because I couldn't find December 10, 2011. :confused3

I know it's early but planning and anticipating a trip is almost like enjoying the vacation early! I've already started a pre-trip report on the appropriate forum, to discuss our preparations.

From that thread, we are:
DH - Pappy
DW - Poppi (that's me)
DD - Pippi (she'll be 15 on the cruise)
DD - Peppi (she'll be almost 12 on the cruise)

Hope to hear from some more cruisers soon. There still seems to be lots of staterooms available so maybe it won't be a full cruise.

Peggy (aka Poppi)

Hi to all- my first post on this forum! We will be breaking with hockey etiquette to take this cruise smack dab in the middle of the travel hockey season- We can't wait!!
This is our second cruise on DCL. I have a 14 yr old daughter and a 9 yr. old son, so it is great to see that they will have company.

Welcome Goalie. I am very excited to be going during the holiday season.

Welcome Jim and Kathy.
We have not been on DCL for the holiday season, but love to visist WDW during the holiday season. If it could be any more magical, it is during that time of year. There are decorations every where. AK has some cool trees in Camp Minnie Mickey and there is so many others. The resorts are decorated and you will need to take the monorail to the Grand Floridian to see the gingerbread house. Oh I am even more excited.

We're joining the party! Just booked today. :cloud9:

This is our very first cruise, and very first Disney experience, period. We're celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary on the cruise, and we couldn't be more excited!

And we are:

Carmen (That's me!)
Josh (DH)
Hazel (3)
Evie (2)

I can't wait to get to know you all! Also, sign me up for that FE.

Thanks for the welcome WDW Enabler and welcome Citapita! Has there been an FE sign up started yet? :goodvibes

Hello everyone! We will be on the ship for this cruise as well. We are: Kara (me), Mimi and Poppy (my parents on their first Disney cruise), and Grace (4). Grace and I have been on one prior Disney Cruise - a five night double dip. We are looking forward to the week!

We will not be participating in the FE this trip. I am returning to grad school this semester and don't think I'll have the time to plan for gifts.

Looking forward to all the discussion and planning! And I can't wait to see all the holiday decorations. We missed them by a few days last trip.

One question...we are flying in a few days early and I've heard about the Christmas celebration at the Magic Kingdom. Has anyone been before? Is it worth going to once?

I've been wondering the same thing about adding on a WDW trip. I'm very tempted...we'll be so close!

I've been obsessively watching YouTube videos of the magic. I had to cut myself off cold turkey, though, when three straight introduction/entrance videos made me tear up.

That said, I could be tempted to watch more...:). anyone have any favorite videos they'd like to share? Or am I the only crazy one? ;)

I think wdw enabler said they would organise the FE. I am very excited about this can wait for you to all have your FE gifts.

Hi we will be going on this cruise also. This will be our 8th Disney Cruise and we love sailing with Disney. We have done the Very Merry Christmas Event at the Magic Kingdom and it was great. They have a special parade and fireworks. If you haven't been this would be a great time to go. The decorations all over the parks and resorts is unbelievable.

:welcome: Everyone!
Thanks Mike and Rose for volunteering to do the FE list!
I'm getting excited about the holiday cruise. This will be our 3rd Disney Cruise during the holiday season. They are so much fun and the ship is beautiful. We used to live in South Florida and went to WDW many times during the holiday season. It is the best! Decorations all over the place and amazing. Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party is a lot of fun!
I'm planning my FE gifts, my door decorations, my stateroom decorations, etc.
I'm glad to see that more people are signing up for this cruise!
Should we start to think of a cruise name and logo?

DH and I plus my parents and brother are getting really excited! We're not doing the fish extenders this time but I am starting to think about my door magnets. Is there a name or logo for our group? I'm not good at that stuff but if someone does create one, I'd love to use it!

I will start putting the FE list together next week. DH is out to sea for a bit, and I am taking a quick girls only trip together this weekend to WDW.
I like Excel but DH was talking about a google document. He didn't teach me before I left but I can eek my way throught it.

Hey my daughter and I will be a Disneyworld this weekend. Leaving tonight. Staying at Shades of Green.

Welcome Goalie. I am very excited to be going during the holiday season.

Enabler- on the fence about the FE only because I don't understand- do we get specific families to exchange with like a Secret Santa or do we just get a list of folks participating and gift who we want from there?

I am not crafty so if I am in I have to start my fish extender like yesterday.

I just purchased our tickets for MVMCP for Dec 18th. I am so excited to see all the WDW christmas decor. We are not staying on Disney property after the cruise. I just booked the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress via priceline for $65 :thumbsup2

Hi Goalie,
You decide if you want to do the FE if you do you will get a list of everyone else who is doing it and then you buy/make a gift for everyone or (per family) Whichever you prefer.

I am going to give everyone a gift but its a personal choice.
Hope this helps Lauren

We're bringing our adult kids and grandkids (5 and 7) for their first cruise ever and first DCL for us (we've cruised before, but not DCL).

We'll have one oceanview, with an inside across the hall (main dining, which I guess is early) - as close as we could with a later booking. I'm going to see if I can do some door decorations (I saw posts about using magnets), but that's a new thing for us - I think the kids would like it. Also, I've seen that we'll have wavephones, which will be helpful. Do people also bring their own magnetic white boards for messaging?

Stan (GP)
Karen (GM)
Robert (Dad)
Natasha (Mom)
Amber (7)
Eli (turns 6 the day before cruising)
Sara (auntie)
