Disney Magic cruise ship oceanneer club and lab magic bands

now that parents don’t have to register their kids ov 5 years old for oceanner club and lab do Disney cruise send the magic bands an week or two weeks before the week when parents and kids are going on Disney cruise holiday e.g. sunday September 11th to Sunday 18th September 2022 British isles cruise from Dover on Disney Magic cruise ship.

The Oceaneer bands are not Magic Bands. You get them once you register onboard, or in the terminal before boarding, on embarkation day.

To add to the above... the DCL Club/Lab band is not free; you will have the option to keep it and the stateroom account will be charged, or you can return it at the end of your cruise and no charge.

I saw this other thread from Jen81NYC When I logged on to the DCL website today, there's notification that my magic band package is on the way and it has a tracking number (that still says label created and not shipped).

Are you quoting what Jen81NYC posted? Or did you receive the same notice?

A lot of people have posted that they've received that notice. And many of them haven't booked a Walt Disney World package in years. There are no Magic Bands on DCL ships.

It appears to be a glitch in the system.

So...I'm a little confused, but trying to help...

1. do you have a notice about MagicBands being shipped?
2. if yes, is this in your DCL account? or your WDW account?

DCL has never shipped "MagicBands" or bracelets of any kind. DCL does use bracelets for the Oceaneer Club/Oceaneer Lab that are similar to MagicBands but with different functionality. The DCL bands work ONLY for access to the Club/Lab onboard, not the staterooms, not charging, not "tickets" etc. The DCL bands are distributed onboard (or maybe in the terminal) when registering a child. If not returned on the last day, there will be a charge to the stateroom account for the bands; this charge can be avoided by returning the band when leaving the Club/Lab for the last time. Otherwise, it's simply a souvenir with no future usefulness on DCL or in the Disney Parks.
