I know that they are adding a new show to AP during dry dock any news on which show will be on the Magic four day sailings. :)

From Disney site:

"Drawn to Magic: As you dine, Disney character sketches decorating the restaurant walls slowly transform from stark black and white to brilliant color, amid familiar Disney movie orchestral themes playing overhead. Enjoy a visit from favorite Disney and Disney"Pixar characters too, such as Rapunzel from Tangled and Remy from Ratatouille.

Animation Magic: Try your hand at drawing and coloring your very own character and then watch in wonder as your creation becomes part of the show! "Be Our Guest" and join Sorcerer Mickey as he leads the fun!"

The first show seems like the original with addition of Pixar characters and the second is the same as the Fantasy.

Bump and update it seems I found the answer to my own question. According to the Disney site it will be Animation Magic where guest get to draw characters.

From http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/whats-new/new-disney-magic/

"Animator's Palate, one of the most popular restaurants on the Disney ships, is updated with all-new, animation-adorned walls and larger high-definition flat-screens to provide the best views of the animation magic that takes place all around.

A heaping helping of entertainment is served up during the brand-new "Drawn to Magic" experience at Animator's Palate. Throughout this deliciously fresh take on Disney Cruise Line's much beloved classic dinner celebration, the restaurant's black and white "blank canvas" explodes into full color as favorite Disney and Disney-Pixar characters, such as Rapunzel from "Tangled" and Remy from "Ratatouille," come to life right before guests' eyes.

On every Disney Magic cruise, guests will have an opportunity to experience the tremendously popular "Animation Magic" dinner show that celebrates the magic of Disney animation and allows families to create and participate in an innovative way. First unveiled on the Disney Fantasy, "Animation Magic" invites guests to create their own characters that magically spring to life, become fully animated and join the show onscreen."

I have bolded the second paragraph that on every....

:cool1:

Drat, was hoping for Drawn to Magic since it is unique... We've seen the other already. :(

Have you been on the old ships I think it is basically the same show as before with updated technology.

The classic ships didn't have you draw your own character to be animated. Even the Dream doesn't have that yet. Also, the new show on the Fantasy (and soon-to-be on the Magic) uses high-def -- the animation is sooo much clearer than the old screens on the Magic and Wonder.

I'm just thankful it's not gonna be the same on the Dream with crush. I admit its great for families, especially those who haven't seen crush in the parks, but for those of us who have/adults who don't want the interaction there should've been a section that crush doesn't visit/can't be heard. I loved the underwater stuff and the other characters swimming by....just could do without Crush.

I know but the first show in post three was talking about the other show because they have done the drawing your character before. This is the show that will be on all Magic cruises. Hope that makes since. The Animation Magic is the one where you draw the characters.

OK, now I'm confused now.

This is what I've sorted out about the AP shows, please tell me what's right/wrong:

1. AP changes from black & white to color through dinner with a show, basically of the cartoons (various Disney movies) coming to life with classical music and Mickey (as Sorcerer's apprentice) comes in for a walk through. (On the Wonder and Magic)

2. Crush show - screens show undersea views with Crush coming by random tables and interacting with guests. (On the Dream & Fantasy)

3. Animation show - guests draw characters that are then collected and put into a show that is played on the screens toward the end of dinner. (On the Fantasy - and is being put on the Magic).

We are sailing on the Magic in May, and have requested our dining rotation to include 2 nights in AP (4 night cruise). Do you think they would do one show the first night and the other show on the last night?

This will be our first time on DCL and we are so excited!!

2. Crush show - screens show undersea views with Crush coming by random tables and interacting with guests. (On the Dream & Fantasy)

I believe it's just the Dream that has Crush. The Fantasy and soon-to-be Magic will have the Animation Magic...

I don't know what the dining rotation is for the 4 night Magic cruise, but for the Dream 4 night it's been 1233 (ERAA; RAEE; AERR). With night 3 being pirate night. There have been reports that this is changing for 2014 to a 1223 (AEER; ERRA; RAAE) rotation. With night 3 still being pirate night

I would think that the Magic would do something similar, with your second visit to AP being pirate night.

I know the Fantasy has the Crush show the first time you are in AP, and the animation show the second time you are in there.

Our TA said it would be 1231 (LACL; ACLA; CLAC) with Pirate Night also on night 3. Can't wait to hear reports on the Magic's 4 night cruise. I should look up when the first one is. :thumbsup2

ETA: Looks like the next 4 night on the Magic is November 6.

Well, to get back to your first question (in light of your TAs information), I would think that they will only do one show. Now whether it will be the "old" show or the "new" one, I don't know. I think it wouldn't be fair that one rotation would get both shows where the other two wouldn't.

No I haven't yet... we were supposed to sail on the wonder in January but it was cancelled so we went to the Magic instead. I was looking forward to seeing a "classic" ship but now it will have to wait until June.

Yes this except I believe on 7 night or longer they will have something similar to the original show on the Magic in AP but with new technology and a few Pixar characters added to the wall. The main show by the sounds of it on the Magic would be the one where you draw on the placemats and get to see you pictures animated. So cool.
