"When You Wish to Be a Star, Parts 1 & 2"
Dana's first task in her new ad agency job is to cast the perfect TV family for Disney's cruise line. Cheryl and the kids get the job, but for the role of "dad" Dana's new boss picks a handsome actor over Jim, on a two-part story arc. (Original Airdate: 2/24/04 and 3/2/04)

It's a lot of fun to watch -- it's the Western cruise and they show them going to Key West. You get to see inside a stateroom, lots of ship shots and deck shots and interior. My TA had several clients on that cruise in October when they shot this. She said Jim Belushi went to the clubs every night and did impromptu music and singing with the bands and piano players.

We are watching it right now!!!

This is sooo fun for us 'cuz we were on the cruise that they filmed this on :jester:

We got to see lots of filming and Jim B. was great with all of the passengers. He even did a great concert--harmonica and singing with the band on the Mexicalli night!!!

Great memories!!!

Until next time:wave2:

Thanks for posting this reminder, I forgot all about it, and I missed it the first time. Unfortunately I saw this 20 minutes too late, but it was fun watching the last 10 minutes, and I plan to watch tomorrow night.

Thanks again!:teeth:

Judy

Thanks for posting the reminder! I'll be sure to watch it tonight!

This was actually filmed in January, on the January 17 Western. We were on the 10th and the crew was preparing for them to arrive on the Friday night before. We talked to the CM's about it and they all received letters as well as guests on that cruise notifying them that they were filming and may be on tv.

I was watching last night and the cruise director welcoming the guests on board was the same cruise director from our Wonder cruise just a few weeks ago. They used actual CM's, cool!

Did you guys notice the bunk beds in the stateroom? Is that something new from the Magic rehab? What category was that?

I think the bunks were part of a set back in L.A.

Yes, the interior stateroom shots were mostly shot in a studio and not onboard.

It was very cool that they used many real CM's....

Tonight's episode will have much more of the cruise, since the first epidsode is mainly a set-up for the story. We were also on the cruise when the show was filmed, and even though we have the show on tape, it was fun to watch last night and it brought back great memories. My 4 year old DS said "I miss Mickey Mouse!" when he saw the ship!
