Disney Magazine Coming to an End?

Another site is reporting that the Disney Magazine is coming to end. Has anyone on the disboards heard this? The "rumor" is that the Spring issue which was just published will be the last issue. People with subscriptions will be offered a refund or they can change to Family Fun Magazine.

Intercot & WDWMagic. It appears that this may not be true. Several posters on these boards have reported that they have called Disney Magazine and have been told the rumor is not true.

I like the magazine too and wish it came out even more often than once a quarter. There are some things you get in it that you either can't find on the internet or that it's easier to have all together in one magazine.

Besides, while flying to Disney, you can't access the Internet very easily. It's a great plane trip magazine!

Bummer. I'm as "down" with the Internet as the next guy, but it was still cool to get the magazine. There was good trivia and info about the company's history, as well as the updates on changes/new attractions. They even offered a little commentary here and there, like with their recent article on overseas attractions that would be cool to get in the domestic parks.

The magazine was a good source for info, and it was one of the places to balance the info from those who are more critical.

I'll miss it.

My favorite part was the photo quiz where you have to guess where each close-up photo was taken. You had to be a real expert for many of those!

I agree that it'll be a real shame. I'll miss it. Call me a sucker, but I really enjoyed reading the letters to the editor and seeing all the pics people sent in of their own "hidden mickeys." Plus, I loved the "Ask Jim" (I think that's what it's called) section with the Disney trivia.

I, for one, will really miss this magazine.

Totally agree.DW and I loved doing those. We actually found every pic.... not by memory, but by searching the parks. We found incredible details,nooks & crannies in the parks while we search, things we've walked past a 100 times before.

We've actually talked about seeing if other Dis'ers wanted to post unique pics of things they spot in the parks and let others try and find them.

Overall, it was a fun magazine but I can understand how the internet can really steal the thunder from a quarterly publication.

As much as I love Disney, I have found the mag to be boring. It's like reading the literature they give you when you check into a resort. I like reading that stuff, but it's because I am at the resort.

I'm so sad, I loved Disney magazine. I loved the reader letters and pics of their Hidden Mickeys and I always found tidbits of interesting Disney info I didn't always see on-line...well, not until someone read it in the magazine and posted it somewhere! LOL! I also loved reading the behind the scenes stuff and stories. I even liked looking at the ads!!!!

Anyone know if there will be one more issue? (the Spring issue someone mentioned in a previous post?)

I am so bummed! I love collecting this magazine. I love looking at the photos of the parks. This is by far one of my most favorite magazines! To me there is a big difference between a magazine and an online site, just something about the whole touch/feel sensory thing I guess?

Please don't end the mag!
