After listening to the recent email show, I thought I'd give a shout out for Disney lost and found.

My one daughter Ciara left her BBB bag with all her make up etc. at 1900 Park fare. After a call the next day it was returned right to our room.

Also, my son lost his autograph book. The lovely cast member at the front desk of Jambo house asked myson what autographs he had, and a couple days later there was a new book with all the signatures. You could tell someone took the time to get the signatures from the same characters, as each looked quite like the characters other signatures in his sisters' books. I was amazed as just how much the cast members cared about making our family trip so special.

They found my daughter's brand new Jedi Mickey baseball cap last year.

I took her down for SWW, and she got one of the hats with her own money. Before we left for the airport we went to Epcot and did a few things, including Spaceship Earth. She took her hat off for the picture they do now, and put it next to her on the seat.

We didn't realize until sometime after exiting that she didn't have it any more. We spoke to the CMs and they checked, but didn't find it. So we went to GR and left a claim.

From home I called the next day - I had some trouble describing the hat (she didn't have it long), but they were able to locate it and shipped it back to us, no charge.

Haven't downloaded the show yet, but Grand Floridian Lost and Found (which I think they may share with the Poly) found my partner's tie and phone charger, both of which he not only didn't know he left in Orlando, but he didn't know he'd lost them at all. :rotfl2:

They shipped the stuff back to us in NYC, free of charge. They had clearly taken great care of them, and wrapped them up neatly in Grand Floridian bags.

The DVC lost and founds are great too. We did a split trip a couple years ago and spent 4 days at Vero Beach and then 3 at Saratoga Springs. Dad left his sneakers at VB and they had them in our SSR villa the next day. Sure it's only a 2 hour drive, but someone had to do it.

We had a great experience also. We had stayed a week at AKL, then did a DCL cruise, followed by nearly two weeks offsite. My kids had a couple of Autograph books. Sometime during the trip the each lost one. We didn't even realise they were gone and have no idea where they got lost. A few days after arriving home, we hadn't fully unpacked so still didn't know they were missing, they showed up in the mail. Being international shipping, it cost more for them to send them than the books cost to buy in the first place.

you did not notice if they had my hat did you?

LOL. I left my new BWV DVC hat at the CG after dinner one night. I called the CG the next day and they told me nothing had not been turned in and to call "lost and found". It never turned up. :(

My wife left her purse in a dressing room at downtown disney. We got back to the hotel and relized she no longer had her purse. I called the store and they said it was found and is now at DD guest services.

Upon arriving I just showed them my ID which matched my wife's address and they handed over the purse. All her belongings were still in there including credit cards, IDs, gift cards. Well, all except one thing... $87 in cash was gone.

Now, I am not placing blame on a cast member as it could have been anyone who found the purse and then turned it in to a cast member. However, there is still a 50/50 chance, but in reality I am leaning towards another guest.

If given a choice I would gladly hand over the cash 10 out of 10 times in return for Ids, Credit and check cards. Heck, it would have cost about $25 (guessing) to get a new license printed. So in the end we are very thankful it was just cash missing as it was a coach purse.

I am still hoping the Lost & Found will pull through for me too. My niece lost my son's pin trading bag (with approx 40 or so pins in it I think - not sure though as we never counted them) somewhere between Restauranntosauris, the washroom just down the way, and the Finding Nemo show. I know my son had it when we left the restaurant but then he gave it to my niece who then took at pitstop at the washroom before we headed to Nemo. As soon as we sat down at the show my hubby noticed it was missing. We promptly left and retraced our steps to no avail. We are assuming she left it in the washroom and someone took it, but we are desparately hoping that it will turn up at the Lost & Found. We have filed a report so it would be very nice if it arrived in the mail out of the blue.

My poor son is absolutely devasted - his bag had all of his favourite pins in it including a number of Chip & Dale pins who are his favourite. The poor Boo cried for hours! I was pretty upset too - they are not cheap and there were pins in it from his very first trip :(

Please send some pixie dust my way!!

My DS lost his cell phone on the Dinosaur ride at AK 2 yrs ago. Disney found it and we picked it up the next day. Also, DH lost his glasses on Splash Mountain in March (not sunglasses). We had come down the big drop and he went to push his hair back and flipped his glasses into the water. We told them there and also at the front of the park. We had to go to lenscrafters and get new ones (terrific service there) but kept checking with lost & found. A couple of days after we returned home we got a phone call saying they had his glasses and they mailed them to our house (no charge). They are pretty scratched up but at least he has a spare pair now.

gosh, i need to listen to the podcast! i am behind. i saw this thread and immediately thought Property Control. :rotfl:

also a good reminder to write your name, cell phone or mailing address on your autograph book and anything else. ;)

When we visit WDW last December, my 6yo grandson Jonathan lost his Mickey Ears that he got on his first trip when he was two either at Chef Mickey or on the Monorail going to MK.

We spend 2 hours search Chef Mickey and the Monorail. my Daughter made numerous calls to the Chef Mickey and Lost and Found. On our next to last day at WDW, Lost and Found suggested we talk to someone at the Town Hall in MK.

Our daughter talk to a Blue Vest there. She said they would do some checking and to come back after 4:30. When my grandson and her return, there was "his" personalized premium ears, a personalized autographed photo from the Mouse himself saying that he had "found" his ears and 6 Family fast passes for any fast pass ride.

Our grandson was ecstatic that Mickey had found his ears and that Mickey gave him a personalized photo!!!!!
