Disney + log in separate from DVC/MDE log in?

At some point I might get Disney +. I believe Disney wants this to be the same log in as my DVC/MDE log in. I would prefer it to be different.

If I create a Disney + account using an email address which is different from the email address I use for my DVC/MDE account, will the system know it's the same person? I assume I will have to give name and address (for credit card number) to create a Disney + account; that information would match what's in my DVC/MDE account.

If you use a different email address, then I would imagine they would be kept apart. It's a bit strange for me how it works. When I first setup Disney+ using the same email as all my Disney accounts, it forced me to change passwords across the universe of Disney sites (so all were the same). That was a pain, but fine. However, more recently, with all of this password reset craziness going on, my Disney+ account has been spared on the latest round of changes. So now Disney+ has a different password from all of my Disney travel accounts. So not sure what is going on behind the scenes. I'm waiting to see when I suddenly cannot log in to D+ and have to change that one as well.

When we signed up for D+ at the 2019 D23 Expo, by the grace of the technology gods I used a different email address from the one I use for DVC and MDE. The name, address, phone number, and even the credit card are the same for all three. It doesn't make any difference - D+ sees itself as different from my DVC and MDE accounts, because the email address is different. I've had to change my DVC/MDE password in the last few months, and it hasn't changed our D+ login.

My Disney accounts, including Disney + did all change at the same time I changed my DVC password. They all do have the same email address. So you're mileage may vary if you use the same email account, it seems.
