Disneyland no longer will show its Halloween fireworks show to general theme-park visitors.

Instead, guests must buy separate tickets to private trick-or-treat parties at Disneyland if they want to see the show.

Last year, Disneyland debuted its first fireworks show for the season, called Halloween Screams, which could be seen by all Disneyland visitors. Halloween Screams proved immensely popular last year, sometimes causing traffic to back up as mostly annual passholders tried to enter the park late in the day for the show.

This year, Disneyland will only show Halloween Screams during Mickey’s Halloween Party — after-hours trick-or-treat events that require separate tickets. In the fall, Halloween Screams will appear on Tuesdays and Fridays in October during the parties.

The trick-or-treat parties are moving to Disneyland from Disney’s California Adventure for the first time this year, Disney recently announced on its Disney Parks blog. The full fireworks show could not be seen in California Adventure.

Party goers also will be able to enter Disneyland a few hours early before the private event begins.

Tickets go on sale for annual passholders on Friday. General tickets will be available July 16. The events often sell out. Prices have yet to be released. Find out more about Mickey’s Halloween Party tickets.

Halloween Time begins Sept. 17 at the Disneyland Resort.

:sad2::thanks:
Now, we just need to know what fireworks will play (RDCT or what?) and if they are only weekends or do we get a treat of weekdays (non-MHP of course).
I am fortunate in having the flexibility to change my dates and am now thinking about trying to avoid 10/1...which was previously in my itinerary.
I have a feeling it will be busy, busy, busy at both DL and DCA...
Too bad because I really wanted to see the Screams, but won't pay $40+ x 5 :rotfl:

I know it is unavoidable, but I wish they wouldn't publish this news!! :rotfl:

I am worried I won't be able to get my tickets on the 16th!! I am also curious if they'll do other fireworks the other nights, it would be kinda cool to see 2 different shows during our trip.

Stormys - Thank you so much for sharing this with us, but we actually already knew about this information (we didn't know it had been published in the OC Register, but we knew the info). It has been the subject of much discussion for several days now.

This is the main HalloweenTime information thread:

"Halloween at DL" Super Thread

Or, as a second choice:

"HalloweenTime begins September 17, 2010 - Mickey's Halloween Party & Fireworks News!!"

(We're trying to keep most information pertaining to HalloweenTime flowing through the "Halloween at DL" super thread because it tends to get confusing when there are multiple threads on one topic, all with the same information or similar - like all the World of Color threads!)

Thank you again!:goodvibes
