Disney Like it Used to be...And Like it's Never Been Before! Feb. '12 PTR! TR LINK!

I love the idea to set a certain organizational goal each month. I really need to get on top of that. =) We moved into our current home 3 months ago now, and I still haven't unpacked my sewing and scrapbook stuff. Eek!

I really hope I can keep my motivation going throughout the year - I'm already less motivated than I was at the beginning of the month. :sad2: I am excited to see how it pans out, though!

Wow, you are super organized, I am way impressed!

Those cards are a great idea and will certainly help during those "what do we do next" moments!

Your trip is getting so close and that means mine is to, but unlike you, I don't have anything ready! Guess I better start moving! :goodvibes

Thank you! :goodvibes Organization makes me feel in control - and I like being in control! :lmao:

2 WEEKS & A TO-DO LIST!

I am excited to say that exactly 2 weeks from now, we will have likely just checked in to the Beach Club! :woohoo: I must say that planning a trip for the first part of the year really does make it arrive quickly. I got so wrapped up in the holidays that it really seems like this trip should still be a couple months away. Of course, I am VERY happy that it isn't, but my head is also starting to spin thinking about all the things I need to accomplish in the next two weeks!

Work is super busy right now (which is why I haven't been around much this week) so I pretty much need to accomplish everything that needs to be done this weekend and next. I always say I'm going to get stuff done in the evenings after work, but that never happens. I'm always too tired!

I broke my to-do list up into things that I need to get done this weekend, and things that I will need to do next weekend:

THIS WEEKEND
Finish itinerary cards
Create an ADR list (with restaurant name, time & confirmation #)
Assemble trip binder (I was actually debating if it was even worth doing this since the trip is so close, but the more I thought about it the more I realized that I really use my trip binders at Disney more than I do at home, so I'm doing one!)
Order Hidden Mickey/Trivia books for gift bags
Make luggage tags
Take all of the paper stuff to Kinkos and get it laminated

NEXT WEEKEND
Take inventory of toiletry bags and re-stock what is needed
Create and send out a final newsletter with important info (weather information, BC info, etc.)
Make CDs for gift bags
Get gift bags ready (I'm going to overnight them to Tampa on Thursday and take my grandparents their's on Friday)
Pack! (I want our clothes to be completely packed by next Sunday night)

Like I said, my head is spinning! I'm feeling really behind now, especially since it's nearly 5:30 and I've not gotten one thing on my "this weekend" list fully accomplished! :headache:

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

You have an ambitious list, but I know you'll get it done!

You seem to get everything done like magic, and I know that this will be no exception!

I really need to get on making a to-do list. I don't think Everett owns a pair of shorts, or a bathing suit, in his size. Maybe it will be too cold to swim or wear shorts, and then I won't have to worry!

Your TPs look great (and they seem to be index card size which is of course the perfect size) ;):thumbsup2

I can't believe your trip is two week away already! How exciting! Oh before I forget... if you have an iphone there is a HM app. I just discovered it yesterday.

Can't wait to see your finished gift bags!

Courtney...TWO WEEKS????? I can hardly believe it! I am so :yay::dance3::yay: for you! This is going to be an amazing trip and such a great time to be at Disney (Of course, anytime is a good time for that, isn't it???

Great list! I haven't done much this weekend either, LOL! I think you should have added "make to-do list" as a task for this weekend, though. If that were the case, you would have accomplished one thing, at least!

I may seem like a lot to get done, but once you get started the time will fly and so will the projects!
Just think about the finished products and the fact that in about 12 days you will be in the happiest place on earth WDW :D

Hope you can get everything done that you need/want to get done before the trip Courtney!

My DSIL just returned from a trip to Disneyland yesterday, I'm going through serious Disney withdrawal!! Very excited for your upcoming trip. Like PP said, once you get started on your list, you'll be done before you know it!

Yay for two weeks! Those long to-do lists before a trip may seem overwhelming, but it's one of the best problems to have! I just love the last month leading up to a WDW trip. That is when I am at my happiest, no matter hoe much stuff I need to do- and I couldn't be any further from a Type A (I guess I'm a Z  ) so my last minute lists are a lot more intimidating than yours! :rotfl:

Courtney-I'm excited to have found and be reading another one of your pre-trip reports! You're so close, and you're going to love Beach Club. :thumbsup2 Can't wait to hear these final details!

I can't believe you are down to only 2 more weeks! I hope the time flies by because then it is just a few more weeks for me after you get back!

Wow 2 weeks to go! How much did you get accomplished this weekend?

I'm glad you believe in me! :lmao: I actually did manage to get a good bit accomplished. :thumbsup2

I can't believe it either! I really don't know where the time went! :woohoo:

Funny thing, making a to-do list actually was on my to-do list! I just felt kind of funny actually writing it down! :lmao: I like the way you think! ;)

Only 10 days now! The time really is flying! :woohoo:

Thank you for the encouragement! I actually did get a few things marked off the list! :thumbsup2

Type Z - you always make me laugh! :lmao: Having all of this to do to get ready for Disney is a good problem to have!

It's so good to "see" you, Michelle! We can't wait for the BC! :cool1:

Woohoo for close trips for the both of us! :cool1:

subbed. Love your wrapping skills. Cant wait to hear about your trip!

:welcome: Thanks for joining in! I'm going over now to check out your PTR! :goodvibes

Wow 2 weeks to go! How much did you get accomplished this weekend?

Quite a bit, actually! I'm going to share in my next update! :goodvibes

TO-DO LIST/TRIP PROJECTS UPDATE

10 days to go! Time is ticking away! Thankfully, I ended up having a fairly productive weekend after all. :thumbsup2 Below was my to-do list for this past weekend...let's see how I did:

~ Finish itinerary cards - Check!
I did one of these for every day, obviously, but here is just one example (for our MK day).

~ Create an ADR list (with restaurant name, time & confirmation #) - Check!

~ Assemble trip binder - Not yet. :sad2: I did do another project to make up for this one though. I'll share it below!

~ Order Hidden Mickey/Trivia books for gift bags - Check!
These should be delivered tomorrow! Here's what I ended up going with:

I had originally planned to make the CDs, but I couldn't find the parks music on iTunes, and I really didn't want to buy the 4 Parks One World CD (because it was 35 dollars) plus Disney movie music. This CD ended up being only $10, so I thought that was a much better deal.

~ Make luggage tags - Check!
I am SO happy with how these turned out! I had the hardest time coming up with an idea, and I almost decided not to do them, but then I had a vision! Each family member will get one of these.

~ Take all of the paper stuff to Kinkos and get it laminated - Not yet.
Sadly, even though I managed to get all of that fun stuff done, I stopped short of actually printing it out! So Kinkos has been moved to next weekend.

I mentioned I did do one other project, though, which I think I forgot to include on my original list. As you all know, I've been making newsletters for my family that I've been sending to them periodically. I also wanted to do newsletters for them for each day of the trip so that they will know what is in store for that day. They aren't all done yet, but here is the MK day newsletter:

I think I will put these in envelopes and deliver these to each person's room each night so that they can open them in the morning. I'll share the others when I get them done. :goodvibes

I love the Hidden Mickeys book. It is so fun to search for them.

Your luggage tags are so cute. The newsletter idea is great and I am sure that everyone will enjoy reading them daily.

How exciting that you have less than 10 days to go.

I love your newsletters! I want to go on a trip and get a letter every day telling me about all the awesome stuff happening that day!

I love how organized you are!!!!

You did a great job of spreading out your ADRs..such a good Diser!!!!!
