I'm sure Carrie, the Disney laundry queen, will know this (:lmao: ), but does anyone out there know whether you have to pay to use the washers & dryers at the Disney resorts? I assume you do but I thought I had read somewhere it was free, so I thought I should check before I packed quarters. Thanks!! :)

You sure do, if you're not staying at the villas where there are some in the rooms. And I'm not sure about concierge levels, but everwhere else, I'm pretty sure you do have to pay with quarters... HTH

I was just in Disney at a value resort and it was $2.00 a load! I don't know if its cheaper in the deluxe or moderate resorts.

The Disney Vacation Club properties have free laundry for people staying on points in the DVC studios, which don't have washers and dryers in them. (I mean, people staying in larger DVC accomodations can prolly use them too, they just don't need to.) If you're a regular hotel guest at a resort that has a DVC wing, you're not s'posed to use them, and some resorts require your DVC room key to open the laundry room door.

If you are also a Laundry Queen, here is yet another reason that it pays to rent DVC points :rotfl: !

I was just at Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter Resort and the laundry there is also $2.00 per load for the washer and the dryer. ($2.00 each) Then the dryer sheets and the detergent is either $1.00 or $1.50 each and they are sold per load. I hope this helps. It stinks doing laundry while on vacation... I sure learned that!!!

Wow, $2 a load?!? :scared1: I guess I'm packing lots of quarters... thanks for the help girls!

Oh I forgot that I can do my laundry while we are staying at OKW. Yay!! so happy.   Happy dance!

Do they have change machines or is it like my apartment where you need quarters that you have to get yourself?

Yes you have to pay for the resorts and for the cruise line. We ended up doing laundry on the cruise since we were gone for two weeks almost.
