Disney Laundry Room

I did a Mickey Mouse laundry room 2 years ago.

I put bead board on the walls and ceiling and painted it white.

I bought simple storage cupboards from Home Depot and painted them red, and added the Mickey Mouse Body Parts drawer pulls to the doors, and to the drawers.

I put black and white checkered ceramic tile on the floor.

I made curtains out of the Mickey Mouse Body Parts fabric and made my own curtain rods. I took a closet pole and cut it to length. I cut out a shape of Mickey's hand and painted it, and used one on each end of the pole. It looks like Mickey is holding up the curtains. I also used the same thing for the laundry clothes rack that I have in there.

I then cut out Mickey's Body Parts from wood and painted them, and added a shaker peg to each one. I have each one hanging on the wall and have a Mickey Mouse Body Parts pot holder dangling from them.

Let me think......

Oh, I built a shelf and painted it black and it sits just above my washer and dryer. It holds my collection of vintage Mickey Mouse toys and such. I also built corner shelves to hold toys as well.

I have a red candy machine like you see in the grocery stores in there as well, but mine holds small stuffed Mickeys.

I found an old ugly pink wood wall cabinet/shelf at the Goodwill and re-painted it in Mickey colors. It holds smaller Mickey treasures.

Finally...I think...I have an old wooden chest that I also re-painted and made a padded top out of the same fabric as my curtains. My collection of mouse ears sets on it.

We need pics !

Love the ideas and the pictures. You could also look at some of the condos/townhouses at Windsor Hills in Orlando. Lots of them have Mickey/Minnie themed rooms.

Well heck........

With the same fabric as my curtains, I made one of those grocery bag holders, and it hangs on the wall, being held up by a wooden cut out of Mickey's hand. I also used that fabric for making a new ironing board cover.

And.....I have 2 throw rugs that are black and in the shape of Mickey's head.

If the room sounds like a cartoon....it is, actually, but that was the look I was going for. Nobody else in my family does the laundry...I doubt that they even know where the laundry room IS. :)

Since I get stuck in there washing their underwear, I wanted it to be fun.

WOW! I think we do need some pics, then I may have lots of questons! But one where did you find the rugs shaped like Mickey's head?? if you have pics, one please of the grocery bag holde you made!

popcorn::I would love a Disney themed laundry room!:woohoo:

ME TOO!! This thread has inspired me.:lmao: LOVE, LOVE the bathroom pictures that were posted! I would have to do something along that line because the red & yellow would be a little much for me in such a small place.

I will ask my daughter about posting the pics....I have NO clue how to do that, but she does.

I got the Mickey head shaped rugs at K Mart. I just came across those recently so they may still carry them.

I personally would do my laundry room more along the lines of Cinderella's drudgery, complete with comical mural of the Step Sisters telling her to do their laundry, lol...but I'm kinda twisted like that. a little statue of Gus Gus on a shelf maybe ~ a sign that says Fairy Godmother Take Me Away~I prefer rooms when they don't look so controlled by the every day available shelf merchandise, if that makes sense. No offense to the rooms shown, they look great!
Have fun decorating your room, I totally agree that laundry rooms should not be left plain, way too much time is spent in them!

I love it! Add a washboard, some buckets on a shelf.....it would be awesome!

I did my younger son's room in a Mickey theme several years ago at our previous home, and when we moved in 2010, he wanted it re-created, so I did it again at our new house! These pics are from our old house; I don't think I've taken any of his new room. I painted one accent wall the Mickey Pants Red from Home Depot, the other walls Mickey Hands White, and used the Mickey Ears Black for the mouse ears on the white walls. I made my own stencil for the mouse ears by enlarging a mouse-ears shape on my printer and using the do-it-yourself stencil kit from Hobby Lobby. I think it turned out cute and fun! :)

I really really want a Mickey kitchen, but haven't been able to decide exactly how I want it to look.
