We are planning to go to DL in late October -- the first time I have been there in over 20 years. Does anyone have tips/secrets to share?

I have never been but my son went last week with friends. They really needed a lot of water and spray fans.

We just got back a couple of months ago and had a wonderful time. If you go to the Disneyland board, you will get lots of good information there. Some of the rides at DL are much better than at DW. We liked the POTC ride much better here than at DW. This was our favorite ride at DL.

Have a safe and wonderful trip :thumbsup2

As previously mentioned, there is a seperate board for Disneyland. I'm from Las Vegas, (recently moved) and I've been to DL 40+ times. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask. I love WDW, but I like DL better than MK.

OH, and if you can't stay in a Disney resort, I recommend Candy Cane Inn! :thumbsup2

I have been there once and I had a blast, but that was when I was younger so I dont know of any real tips for you except to have fun!!!!

To a moderator: could I get this post moved to the Disney Land board for my mom so she can get some tips.

Yes, this post belings in the Disneyland forum, but I will say that if you can go at all on weekdays, specifically Tuesday - Thursday, it will be way less crowded as the locals help fill up the parks Friday night - Sunday in addition to vacationers who can't take off during the week and are there for a quick mini-vacation.

We just got back from DL, and I would say one of the big differences is that you can stay at offsite hotels that are located very close to the parks (a few are probably even closer than the DL resort hotels). It's been a long time since I was at WDW, so I can't say what some of the more recent changes are between the parks.

I really liked the Unofficial Guide to DL book. That was really helpful for planning purposes.

If you're looking to get hotels and tickets, you can book thru The Magic for Less. They are an authorized WD travel agent, and we got the same perks as if we booked directly.

Have fun!
