Disney land hidden mickeys, fun facts, or secrets??

Can't forget about the not so secret, Secret Bathroom in FL.

Some hidden Mickeys: My favorite one is in the center of the shield on pirates on the left side right before you go up the hill at the end.
The train in FL...check out the instrument panel where the conductor sits. There are a few in Winnie the Pooh. Some in the rocks when you wait in line for Goofy's rollercoaster. Country bear jamboree crew are inside the Winnie the Pooh ride. You can ride in the nose of the monorail if ask and wait patiently. You can ride with the captain on the Mark Twain, again be patient, just ask. Just a few things.

Toon town- WD trees. in the shape of W and D

That reminds me of another one. The Dream Suite above the POTC entrance. Has a R and W ( for Roy and Walt) included in the railing. It sticks out now since it is painted different than the railing's color.

Pirates: Theres one skull in there that a cast member told me was real. NOW, it is however darker than any others in the ride.....but I still dont know about this one.

I have heard of this one as well. I believe that the actual human skull is the skull in the headboard of the bed in the beginning of the ride. Now, this is not fact of course, merely a rumor. Although, the story goes that when Pirates of the Caribbean was being built, artificial skulls were not life like enough for Disney. So, they simply used real human skulls. After technology progressed, they went through and replaced the human skulls with artificial skulls. However, to remove the skull in the headboard of the bed would require the entire headboard to be removed. So, the Imagineers just left it there. Like I stated, this is simply a rumor, but it is a pretty interesting story!

Also true to add to the rumor, it was pretty inexpensive to buy real human skulls back then (Doctors, etc). Nowadays they're around $2-3k when you can even find them. Full skeletons are around $5-7k, whereas resin ones are a couple hundred for an ok one.

This is no longer allowed at WDW but you can at DLR. I did in the fall.

When we were there at Christmas we rode in both the nose and tail of the monorail. Tip: it is easier to get either of these at the tomorrowland station as all previous riders must disembark in tomorrowland whereas at the DTD station you can stay on and ride back to TL so the front and back are not available every time if riders are already on board.

I bought the Hidden Mickey book for our last trip...and forgot it

So this year, I already have it packed in the suitcase, so I cant forget it! I was so upset, but it was a secret (Disney trip) so it was hard trying to hide everything. They know this year and its SO much easier

no one mentioned the basketball court? ok this is old news but as no one mentioned it. there is a half court basketball set up in the matterhorn mountain. the story goes like this. his design was too tall for the building codes at the time so in order to side step the issue they put in a basketball court and as the code did not apply to sports structures he was able3 to build it

There is a hidden eyeore in the Indiana Jones ride.

I can never find that!! I know it's there and I know where to look but maybe I'm just blind . And I once asked a CM if she could point me to where it was and she said that they had taken it out .

We were in Indiana Jones 2 weekends ago & I asked the CM if he could show me the Eeyore sign. He said sure, and flashed his light up where the projector is and we finally saw it (after knowing it's up there for years!) There is also a hidden Mickey in the office cage in the queue. In the skeleton room (on the ride itself), there is a a skeleton with a Mickey ears hat on. The name is "Bones." Sit on the left in back row - easy to see then.

Lets see Disney secrets. I have a ton up my sleeve.....

My understanding is that they put the court there (well, basketball play area) for the climbers to do something while they waited to climb the mountain. It's now a storage area, from what I hear.

If you have time on a Saturday afternoon, take a free tour of the Grand Californian Hotel - it's beautiful. There's a Hidden Mickey (HM) on the reception counter, grandfather clock in the lobby, and along the rock wall entrance from the street (I finally saw it a couple of weekends ago).

I haven't done this for a couple of years so not sure if they still have them, but ask for a map when you are exiting the Jungle Cruise. They used to keep them in a filing cabinet in the little hut off to the side as you are exiting.

My bladder is like a bathroom divining rod.
I can't believe in nearly 40 yrs of visits I would have missed any in the parks (or the I-10/I-5 vicinity, for that matter )

The secret bathroom is not much of a secret. It's just a single stall bathroom, actually not really with stalls just one bathroom that is kind out of the way. Nothing really special about it except that there's rarely ever a line since many dont' know about it. This isn't my video but you can see the outside to maybe help direct you to where it is. It's on the left side of the castle before you enter Fantasyland. Right next to a CM only backstage area.
