Hello everyone, with less than a week to go (we are in Florida on the 2nd)I just found out from my travel agent that Disney no longer gives dining vouchers but instead we are to use a "key card". We're doing the 3 day land and 4 day cruise and apparently this is new and a standard practice. We are to show this card whenever we eat and it automatically gets adjusted.

Has anyone done this recently? We've had many problems with our travel agent and I just want confirm how this works. I know on the cruise you present your card wherever you go but this thing of showing in in the parks concerns me.

I haven't done a cruise package, but here's what I know about the "land" part. Your "Key to the World" card, is your room key and pretty much everything else. Park tickets will be on it as well as dining plan (if you have the dining plan). You'll also use it for fast passes. If you have a credit card on file at your resort, you'll be able to use your key to charge items (food, mickey ears, etc.) to your room.

For dining, when you go to the restaurants, they will ask if you're on the dining plan, and when your meal is over you'll give them your card and the meal(s) will be deducted from your "account". How many meals you have remaining on your account will be on your receipt.

Hope this is the information you were looking for.

We did the land and sea package in March and were told we were not eligible for the food vouchers for our land portion, (which cost us a fortune). I guess they've made some changes. We are headed back in April and have signed up to use the vouchers this time. That is the only way I can imagine spending more than 3 days at Disney and wanting to eat. :goodvibes Have fun on your trip; the cruise is amazing!!! You'll love it!

I realize this is off-topic from the OP's question, but I just wanted to clarify that you DON'T need a credit card to set up a room charge. You can also back up a room charge with a debit card, cash, travelers checks and even Disney Dollars.
