Many, many, questions today...hahaha :upsidedow.

If you can't answer all of them, that's fine...but if you can help me out with one or two, that'd be great!

Okay, so I was on the Disney Job website looking at jobs that you can apply for. So, I guess I'm thinking WAY ahead of myself here...but I reaalllyy want a job with Disney, and I'd love to work for WDW.

This really isn't a CP question, more like a...after the CP question. Or for people who actually work at Disney full time...or part time too.

So here are my questions :sad2: ...

1) I think working in the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique would be reaallly cool. So here are my questions for this...
A) The pay rate say it's start off at $8.80...does it ever increase?
B) Are they pretty particular about keeping "young" girls in the BBB? Like, is it normally just young girls or are there some older ladies there too?
C) Do you need a lot of experience with hair/hair salons/etc.?
D) If I would tell you that I was majoring in Hospitality Management and I walked out of college and got this job...would you tell me college was a waste of time if I was coming out to just get this job?

2) Airport Representative?
A)Can anyone tell me more about that role?
B) Again with HM as a major...does that fit?

3) Reservation Center...
A) What is it?
B) How much is the pay? It didn't say on the site.
C) HM Major question again

4) Vacation Planner -- I know a little about this because it's a role for CP. But for full time purposes...
A) What do they expect of you?
B) HM Major...lol

5) Disney Cruise Line
A) Pretty much any info you can give me :)

Thanks in advance!!!! :yay:

A) The Boutique Hostess role is covered under the Service Trades Council Union Collective Bargaining Agreement. Starting rates and pay raises are determined according to the CBA agreed to by the Union and the Company in labour negotiations every several years.

As a guideline only, it should be noted that starting wages have increased in all STCU roles in recent years; and all STCU Cast Members have received pay raises over starting wage as well.

B) Walt Disney Parks and Resorts U.S., Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer. The only restriction with regards to the Boutique Hostess role is the Bonafide Occupational Qualification that all Hostesses in the role must be female.

C) Prior experience is always prefered, but not required for this role.

2) Airport Representative?
A)Can anyone tell me more about that role?
Airport Representative Hosts and Hostesses greet arriving Walt Disney World Resort and Disney Cruise Line Guests at Orlando International Airport in Orlando.

They arrange for Guests to be shuttled to their final Disney destinations by way of Disney's Magical Express shuttle or Disney Cruise Line motorcoach, as well as coordinating with airport authorities and airlines to ensure an efficient service.

3) Reservation Center...
A) What is it?
B) How much is the pay? It didn't say on the site.
A) Reservation Centre Hosts and Hostesses are often a Guests's first contact with the Walt Disney World Resort.

Located at offsite call centres in Orlando and Tampa, these Cast Members take inbound phone calls and provide information to Guests about vacation packages, dining reservations, and other pieces of general information.

B) Reservation Centre Hosts and Hostesses are a Hourly Non-Union position. Pay rates and raises are decided in accordance with the Company's established compensation guidelines, which take a wide variety of factors into account.

4) Vacation Planner -- I know a little about this because it's a role for CP. But for full time purposes...
A) What do they expect of you?

Vacation Planner Hosts and Hostesses are responsible for aiding our Guests in selecting the best ticket options for their holiday. Using their extensive knowledge of the Walt Disney World Resort, along with the Company's Magic Your Way Ticket Programme, Vacation Planners customise a ticket package for each Guests.

Sales Targets and Performance Standards are utilized in this role.

5) Disney Cruise Line
A) Pretty much any info you can give me :)

Disney Cruise Line is continually recruiting for shipboard positions aboard it's oceangoing vessels. Most positions require at least two years of previous experience in a related field, though not necessarily on a cruise ship.

I don't know how things go with Disney, but according to several career-counselor type people that I've spoken with, is less about what you've studied than what you've done. Obviously, the fact that you have a college degree is a huge leg up. But your major doesn't have to connect completely to what you hope to do (excepting certain careers typically involving grad school). I think Hospitality Management is a good degree for the types of things you seem to be interested in doing (the only other ones that come to mind are perhaps Tourism or Business, but I really think you're good with Hospitality). Focus on getting relevant experience - try to find work in a salon (for BBB) or at a local hotel working the front desk (for a reservation-center position).

Do the job postings you've been looking at list job requirements? If so, it would be worth looking at those to see what kinds of qualifications, experience, and skills they are looking for. That way, you know what kinds of things to do to make yourself more competitive.

What about a Graphic Design position after doing the college program? Where would you apply?

to answer some of yours about the boutique

yes older women work there as well as younger girls, i was a cp there for fall advant 09.

and for being experienced, it's best to not have any, a few people cps that had hair licenses left and some stayed, i didn't have experience and was fine. but they also send you to a hair school to get a hair braiding license, got to learn a few braids there which was fun

My husband worked for Disney right out of grad school. He worked in accounting (in CA) for 2 years. I loved the Disney benefits but the pay was very lousy. It was much more cost effective for him to work at another firm and make double and pay for Disney trips. Sigh.....
