Here are some of the things we like doing:
1. Always have something planned. Whether it be a day trip or weekend trip somewhere, it always helps to know that we have a fun family day or trip planned. If I have the Disney itch but know we can't go, I can at least say, well we have this coming up next month or this weekend.
2. Search online and try to replicate some of your favorite disney food items at home. We've made soups, mickey carmel apples, and a few other goodies. I've seen other people say they've replicated The Kitchen Sink, zebra domes, fudge, etc. You could also do mickey shaped food, like mickey shaped pancakes, mickey shaped cookies, a mickey shaped cake, or mickey shaped pizza.
3. Go through all of your pictures and make a scrapbook. It's a great way to relive the moment and a fun project. If you have kids, they can also help pick the supplies and help put it together.
4. Have a Disney movie night. Pop in your favorite Disney movie, make some popcorn and relax.
5. Search for quotes from Disney movies that are relevant to your life and make a daily calendar from those quotes, or post a new one daily/weekly on your facebook page, twitter, or blog.
6. Visit a
Disney store, or shop online at
Disneystore.com. It's a great way to see some of the park merchandise and get a quick Disney fix.
7. Watch videos of the rides, fireworks, and shows on you tube.
8. Listen to Disney music. You can listen to movie soundtracks or park music. On days when it's really hard for me to focus on work, I usually stream some Disney park music and it helps change my mood and reminds me where my extra money is most likely going...
9. Start planning another Disney trip. Even if it's years off, you can always start finding ways to save for the trip, read trip reports, resort/hotel reviews and restaraunt reviews. That way, when the time comes, you're prepared!
