Disney IT could not fix Magic Band+ - now what?

Personally I’m going to wait till MB2+ is released. We have 3 kids and will have 3 MBs for them next time. It’s a pain having to keep track of the MBs and having to stuff them in bags/purse while traveling. It’s already crazy trying to charge iPhones and iPad (parents+teen), chargers (at least 2), fans (stroller+2 necklace).

Disney should install wireless charging ports and make the MB2+ Q charging compatible and waterproof.

Thank you. As I read that, I noticed that in fact I am one step behind that person: my MB+ is not even linked to my MDE, in addition to not being paired and connected. This was especially baffling because one option was just to type in the unique code on the back of the MB+. Yet when I did that, the identical start screen in MDE reappeared and nothing had changed. Somehow it is like the MB+ doesn't even 'exist' no matter how much I try to persuade MDE otherwise.

Ah well, despite everything, I like this Magic Band in general and I might decide to just hang on 'til I can show up at Guest Services and watch them spend 45 minutes trying to figure out why it doesn't work.

Could you use a different device and try to pair? It could be something in settings. Also try only 1 person per device

As I understand it, people have had very little success with Android devices and unfortunately that is the only device I have. BTW, I already had read Tom's posting at Disneytouristblog along with, shall we say, a fair number of similar postings and none has helped. It does seem to me that the linking/setup process is choking on something related to Android (version 12, in my case) but I lack the technical background to figure out what it is. Possibly the next update to MDE will address this.

I gave it one more try yesterday, and much to my surprise, it seems I have succeeded.

The linking of the MB+ with my MDE profile via the app was hopeless for reasons still not clear. But, when I connected to the website, that went much better. It told me the MB+ had too little charge, so I charged it up and then got through all the rest of the setup without any issue. So far as I can tell, the MB+ is now linked and paired and whatever the heck else it's supposed to be. Next month I'll be able to wave it in front of statues and then wonder why nothing happens. :thumbsup2

Geez, I got mine a few weeks ago, and didn't realize that I would need to set them up. I will have to work on that before my trip to make sure everything is okay.

Bluetooth might not paid if the band isn’t charged up enough. Apparently, a lot of them are arriving with little to no charge. I think they all need an update now too to work. The update requires Bluetooth pairing, so you have to have a good charge for that. I charged mine before trying and charged it until there was a solid quarter green light, not the entire face. Once it was paired, connected, and updated, it showed a full green flashing face when fully charged. Also, I had to move mine around my iPhone slowly to get it to see the band. It was weird. I don’t have to do that with other Bluetooth devices. It took several attempts for the band to be seen by my phone.

Wrong thread - deleted post extended hours

We did end up purchasing the MB+ as some of our old ones are peeling. Keeping fingers crossed they spit well.
