Welp, Disney is pulling a movie with a 5/29 release from theaters and having it go straight to Disney+. Doesn’t look like they expect movie theaters to be open by Memorial Day weekend.

Much of the country will still be under a strict stay at home order on Memorial Day. The Virginia one is until 6/10 and may be extended. No movies here.

Artemis fowl is going to Disney+. Black widow has a November theater release now, with the other upcoming marvel movies pushed back as well.

Agreed, but a lot of people seem to think Disney will open by 6/1...

Yeah, that kinda stinks for these movies. I thought Artemis Fowl looked good and will check it out on D+ but I feel like this quashes any thoughts of a sequel before we even know how well it does. I am really heartbroken about Jungle Cruise getting pushed a full year. I am so looking forward to that one!

Here's an article on the pushbacks. It's really a killer with the Marvel releases since they're interconnected in some ways and have to come out in a specific sequence.

Oh, great; thanks so much, Disney. They're going to make "Soul" the canary in the coal mine, and when families are not yet ready to flock to theatres because they are still concerned about the virus, the movie will "underperform," the knee-jerk Disney-Haters will be gloating like crazy about TWO Epic Fails for Pixar!1!, and the bean counters will tell Pixar, "No more original stories." Bummer.

Artemis Fowl was supposed to be released last August (I.e. the Summer dead zone). However, it was canned and straight fo D+ is all they can do as based on buzz, it’s a turkey.
