Disney Installs Anti-Terrorist Barricades

Walt Disney World has installed high-security, anti-terrorist barricades similar to those protecting the White House and U.S. embassies.

Hydraulically powered, steel barricades block the service entrances of the resort's four theme parks.

The dozen or more yellow-and-black barricades are state-of-the-art, according to the report.

The manufacturer recently shipped the same model to Baghdad, Iraq, to guard the new U.S. Embassy.

A Disney spokeswoman said the company did not install the barricades in response to a specific terrorist threat against the parks.

Well, of course there's no way to ensure complete safety, but it's nice to hear that Disney is doing what it can. Thanks for sharing that.

I noticed that they have installed concrete posts about 2 feet apart at some of the entrances so a car could not drive into an entrance. They just installed them at Boardwalk. I noticed also noticed them at AK, International Gateway, MGM.
