I saw that tip somewhere, I'm sure I tried it at the store around Christmas.

Save you from getting doubles or triples of the power discs. Also helps you find that one you are wanting.

The power discs are about $4.99 up here in Canada and they give you special powers or items. You can put the package on a base at the store and see what is inside before you buy. Helps once you have one package but you can use doubles when playing with a friend.

Now this is a fantastic tip !!! Who knew ?!?!?!

For the starter set, I bought one last week from amazon warehouse deals. It was listed as used and good condition but the description made it sound like it was a "dinger" where the item is new but the outer box is damaged. As expected the box was damaged and had some dirt on it but the box was sealed and everything was wrapped in plastic and the game was sealed. It was $18 and might be something worth looking into if someone wants to get the starter set cheap.

Thanks! I hadn't heard that. All I'd heard is that if you know the salespeople at whatever store you're at you can have them scan it or something... But that way is so easy.
