I apologize if this is a repeat question. I am still SO confused.
So if I have this right I can do a digital download of the new 2.0 game? And then just buy the characters I want, instead of buying the Starter pack? We already have Disney Infinity 1.0.

We have a PS3. Does anyone know where I would get the digital download from?

You are correct, if you already have the 1.0, all you need is the updated software which you can download for $19.99. The base you have will continue to work for 1.0 figures and once you download 2.0 software, the 2.0 figures and discs will start to work on your current base.

The only thing I'm not sure of with the PS3 is if you have to download it on the actual console. I have the WiiU and I have an option on the console to go to the nintendo eshop, from there I can purchase and download games directly onto our console.
Do you have a Playstation store option you can get to on the PS3 console? If so, I would download it directly onto the PS3 that way. I think the Playstation store is PS version of the nintendo eshop.

One other thing for those that aren't aware....Target started a sale this week on all video games for all systems that includes the Disney infinity 2.0 characters where if you buy 2 you get 1 free. That makes them about $9.30 each.

Went to walmart tonight looking for the $5 figures. I couldn't find any 1.0 figures, so I asked a clerk. He said they are all taken back into the stockroom to make room for 2.0. He didn't know what they were going to do with them. I'm hoping they'll be marked down!

The crystal game is the clear piece that comes with some play sets & there is 1 in the starter box, although not then tarter box with Merida. That is what accounts for the price difference. The "crystal Piece" is a clear knobby looking piece that goes onto the third space on the base. This contains the "story game" for the play sets. For Infinity 1.0, the starter crystal piece contains the Incredibles, Pirates of the Caribbean & Monsters, Inc. worlds and game challenges. I am not sure what is on Infinity 2.0.

I hope this makes some sort of sense.

I didn't have any luck either. The 2 Walmarts I visited in Louisville, KY both had their 1.0 figures still out selling for full price. I even asked them to scan it at one store to be sure and they were still full price.

I bought 3 yesterday and the total with tax came to $30.35. So if anyone needs at least 3 figures, Target's current deal is better than Black Friday.

Last year they had them throughout the whole weekend and beyond. Seems like they put them out in waves. My experience with Walmart on BF is that you can pass something, it's gone but then you go buy a little later and it's fully stocked again. I may prefer Target but in this area Walmart usally has their stuff together, at least where I live. Obviously it's a YMMV situation but I'd be really surprised if you weren't able to get one. Amazon usually puts these out at these prices too as lightning deals. I've been stalking the Skylanders for my boy.

Thanks to the DisBoards, I got mine by shopping online Sunday night and was able to pick them up at store the next morning. Out of curiosity I walked into the store and many were sold out or only had one left. I'm sure they'll restock, but it was so easy to do the rapid pick-up, I'm grateful for the suggestion. The other good thing about store pick-up is that I was less tempted to walk around the store and look at things I really don't need!!

I don't know. I have a quandary because DH has to work until 3pm on Thanksgiving (& we really can't eat without him, KWIM?), so I will not be in the first "wave" of shoppers. I am going to see if my mom, sister, or BFF shopping friend(she was the one who got TRU to price match 2 sets for her last year!) are going to WalMart Thanksgiving night to shop. I will coordinate so I don't end up with 3!

Last year ours were on an end cap in a weird spot of the store...near the greeting cards if I recall. There was not a line...and I had picked mine up the Friday before, so I've got my fingers crossed that Walmart pulls out a sale this week again!
