Disney+ in Villas

My kids need to wind down a bit after the excitement of the parks, and there’s not a lot on regular tv for the under 10 age group at 8 at night.

Somebody who currently is in the Yacht Club posted on the Yacht Club/Beach Club thread that a new cable box was put in the room yesterday. @DizneyLizzy might find the "Disney on Demand" part of the home screen interesting because it shows some Disney movies. Obviously Yacht Club is not DVC, but this is something to keep an eye out for.

Someone else on that thread replied this: "That's the same smart TV that's been installed at Gran Destino and Riviera for a few years now." But the person whose room it was said that it's the same TV, just a new cable box.

Riviera has smart TVs. I was able to watch D+ there but I cant remember if I logged in on the tv or airplayed from my phone to the tv.

My experience has been the TV setup is different in every resort. In BLT a few years ago we had a Samsung TV that we could do some sort of Samsung-specific cast from a Samsung tablet we had. But every room has different brands/models of TV. If we plug into the HDMI sometimes there's an input button on the remote, sometime on the TV, sometimes there's a "channel" to tune to, and sometimes you need to go through the menu.

When they had a captive portal, most stick devices didn't deal with it. I think that has been removed now (?). Regardless, we always have a laptop with us and we hook up its HDMI output to the TV, clone the screen, and use that. Then Mom and Dad go out to dinner while Grandma has the kids for the night.

Can't wait until they just have streaming TVs in all the rooms...
