We are planning a Disney cruise the middle of March along with a trip to the MK. How is the MK in the middle of March? The weather? Anything special going on at both parks during that time? Are you able to swim in the resort pools? thanks for your help!

I went in March last year and it was hot! Crowds will depend on the proximity to Easter/Spring break.

We went mid-March this year. It was warmer than I thought it would be and warmer than the forecasts had been saying. I mainly brought pants and capris for DS and I; I should have brought shorts. A hoodie was nice in the very early morning and late night though. The crowds were about the same as summer. Mid-March this year was not Easter time, which appears to be like Xmas crowds. We did notice that the crowds got bigger as the week went on. It was warm enough to swim, maybe a little cool once out of the pool. Since it was right after the time change and MK was opening at 8am (7am for EMH), it was still dark when we went to the bus for EMH and at the park. The crowds were really low in the mornings, since the park was opening earlier. It was great. I would really love to go back again at that time, but I really want to do Star Wars Weekends next year. The Flower & Garden Expo was going on at Epcot too.

We went in March 2013 and it was cool enough that if I hadn't been to DW at other(hot and humid) times of the year I would have said the weather here is really nice. :rotfl2: Highs were between 65º - 75º everyday with very little humidity.

We also visited in mid-March 2013. I didn't notice crowds to be terrible, however the weather was a bit chillier than I expected for Florida. Mornings and evenings were in mid 50s with afternoons warmer.

Flower and Garden should also be starting around then. I loved going around and looking at all the displays!

Depends on what you mean by "mid" second or third week? Because second week of March is the start of spring break and it will be CRAZY. Weather wise its not too bad but is very unpredictable (yes even for Florida).

Weather is nice 75-80. Crowds are busy especially MK, however, MK stays open late (sometimes till 2:00AM if you are a disney hotel/DVC guest).

We went the exact same weeks in March in 2014 and 2015 (the 2nd full week). 2014 was pretty chilly in the morning and night and mid-70s during the day. I thought it was fabulous! But I wouldn't have swam. This year it was much warmer overall and we did swim several times. That time of year is unpredictable with weather, unfortunately. The crowds are fairly light though and Flower & Garden is great!

The first week of March will have fairly low crowds. Starting the second week, crowds will be at summer levels -- typically 8 and above -- until it's within a week of Easter, when crowds will be higher.

The weather is highly changeable at that time of year, as you can see from the replies you've gotten. Sometimes it can be quite cool, while other years it can get up to the 90's (like this year). In general, though, March has pleasant weather

We went in mid-March this year (week of the 16th) and loved it. It was warmer than usual, and we wrote pretty much nothing but shorts/capris and t-shirts. No need for a jacket even in the am. My kids swam at the resort pool most of the days we were there and it only rained once. Crowds were definitely preset, but manageable, especially first thing in the morning. If you're willing to take advantage of MK opening at 7:00 or 8:00am, it will be great. We stayed at BLT, so spent a ton of time at MK, including 3 rope drops.
