Disney in Texas

A friend of mine who works for the City of Missouri City, Texas told me that the Disney company has bought several thousands of acres of land in Brazoria County, Texas. This area is close to the gulf, not too far from Galveston. She said that she has seen the plots and acreage. Has anybody else heard about this?

He is referring to the Broklyn Bridge, as in the old con of selling the deed thereof.

This rumor has been aound for a long time in some form or another and has become something of a running joke here on the Rumors board. If you added up all the towns that are suppoesed to be getting Disney Parks soon, we would have to expand the state to make room for all of them.

Thanks to the OP for posting this though. Who knows? This might be the time it turns out to be true.

I've no idea what land costs in Brazoria County, Texas, but "several thousand acres" is going to show up on some pretty popular radar. Hey, just check the county records office.

Galveston is not the most ideal spot for a Disney property. It's so miserable weatherwise in that area in the summer that I can't imagine it doing too well, not to mention the castle would probably be a refinery tower.

Yea we would not want to build a park where the weather is unbearable and hot during the summer and wet in the winter. OH WAIT they already did that in some florida city. I hope the park in Orlando will work out !!!

Look I am from Louisiana and let me tell you from galveston to orlando the weather is not that different. WE are all under the hot and humiditiy down here.

Also, Galveston is not in Brazoria County even though it's driving distance. Kind of like from Tampa to Orlando.

If Disney's been buying as much land in TX as people claim, it won't be long until they own the entire state!
