Hi, We are planning our vacation for the week of September 24th thru October 2nd. Our previous visits were in April and November so we are hoping to be going at a time where it is less busy. Can anyone give us some input on how the crowds are in September and what the weather is like. Also, for the first time we are planning on staying off-site in a vacation home. Any advice on this? Thanks so much.

Can't really comment on staying off-site but I can tell you Sept. is a great time to be at WDW! We'll be there at the same time btw;) The crowds are low and the weather is still nice and warm to enjoy the pools - only downfall really is it tends to rain alot in Sept. but down here in FL it tends to rain and than clears up so it rarely gets in the way for too long.

We'll be there from 9/24-10/3 also! Sounds like there will be atleast we 3 families! This is our 6th trip in Sept and we go especially for the low crowds and great swim weather! It is usually very hot and humid (I pack extra t-shirts - 2 a day!) with a short shower most afternoons that is over quickly and you get on with the day! Due to the heat, we usually head out first thing every morning and go back to hotel for early afternoon break/swim and then go back out late afternoon for dinner and go to the parks that are open later. The park hours at MK and MGM are shortened versus most other times of year, but you can accomplish so much with the minimal crowds that its not a big deal. We've never gone this late in Sept, and I hear crowds pick up as we head into Oct, but I think you'll really enjoy having the park rides walk ons! Jo

We use to always go in September for DD bday...until she went to school  But it is a great time to go. Crowds are very low..but there is also reduced park hours and parade schedules to go along with that. Temps can very dramatic. Sometimes it was 100 degress and unbearable. Others 85 and beautiful and remember you are there at the height of hurricane season and the rain can be enorumous...in fact Sept was the one time disney closed due to weather. It could also be cool at night...but either than early December it was and is my favorite time to go! Have fun!

I can't imagine just being able to walk right onto rides. My husband will be thrilled to hear that. He still ins't convinced that there are never huge crowds at Disney and no lines. Thanks for the information. What is the average wait time for rides?

I know it can be different from year to year and week to week. DD bday is 9/25...and we tried to be down for that. We literally went on TOT and SM over and over until I felt like I would vomit. VERY LOW. Last September was the first time we missed it. But prior to that I think the longest we waited was for The Rapid ride at AKL and that was 15 mins...

The weekends are still crowded, but during the week it is great! We have been to WDW a couple of times in September and loved it! We never used fast pass (didn't need it). It is still hot during this time, but a great time to go!

Enjoy!

Hi, from many trips, September is an excellent month and one of our favorite times of the year to go. Crowds are usually at one of their lowest times of the year. The weather is still very hot. But that is excellent for the pools and the water parks. You can also find some excellent deals at the resorts, including Disney and off site. Have fun.
