We had a trip planned for this coming February, but recent happenings with our family will not make this possible. How about the beginning of November? How are the crowds, anything good going on? It's going to be a looonnnggg countdown but it will give us more time to research and get excited about it.

I would check to make sure the Food & Wine Festival is over, that creates a crowd in EPCOT. The official Disney web site can tell you what's going on there. I think the month of November, except for the week of Thanksgiving (Saturday to following Saturday) is a good time to go. We're headed there Nov. 11. :cool1: :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :woohoo: :bounce: :bounce:

Avoid Jersey Week if possible. It is the week that includes Veteran's Day (this year Nov. 10). Many east coast schools, not just New Jersey, have several days off that week so it is really not a slow time. Not as bad as holidays but definitely not slow. The week before or the week after should be better. Also, there is the F & W festival at Epcot and Soap Weekend at MGM to consider. Good luck planning!

We're also headed there on the 11th! Are you flying out of PIT???

We are also going on the 11th. We are traveling with my MIL & FIL who have NEVER been to DW. I am hoping for low attendance for their sake!!

I am sure we will all post when we get back. I am hoping for cooler weather. I would like to go to DW and not sweat! :)

I'm leaving on 11/5, which sounds like its the beginning of Jersey Week. (Booked before we knew about the phenomenon, and then it was too late to change vacation schedules as they were fixed in stone by BIL's employer.) I've heard horror stories about Jersey Week from people who are used to the fall being really quiet. But I've heard other people say they have a great time when they go then. I've been during very busy and very quiet times, and I'm hoping for something in the middle!

Though, I know all of the Jersey Week stories are starting to get to me; I had a dream the other night that it was my last day of my Disney vacation and that I hadn't done a single thing yet because it was so crowded!

I have been there duing the second week of Nov., that was back in 2000. We really enjoyed ourselves, and the crowds were great. The weather was also terrific! I don't know how much it has changed since then, but we thought it was great! We actually cannot go during that time of the year anymore due to my DBF's work schedule, so we now go the first week of Feb. which we also enjoy.

Unlike the other poster I think the Food & Wine Festival is something special that is a lot of fun. It is very crowded on weekends though with the locals. As long as you are there during the week you can get into a lot of the free seminars fairly easy. We are heading down on Nov 1st for two weeks specifically to attend the food & wine festival. Based on your post I'm assuming you are going in November of 2007, not this year. Check out some of the posts about the Food & wine Festival to see if it is something that would interest you. Some people have posted reviews on the Restaurant boards about some of the special dining events that you pay for. My favorites are the Food & Wine Pairings that they offer at Coral Reef, Le Cellier, Bistro de Paris, Morocco, Japan & Alfredos. They are the best bargain of the Festival in my opinion. There is also the Party For The Senses offered each Saturday night during the Festival. A little pricey but a lot of good food & wine included in the price. Reservations for these events usually begin in July. Also a lot of the Christmas Decorations begin to appear at the beginning of November. Most Holiday events start up by the middle of November. I don't know how much impact Jersey Week has because I think we went home as it was beginning last year. It looks like we'll be in the thick of it this year though. I'll try to post a trip report when we return this year.

We were there for Jersey week in 2002 and I remember seeing all NJ license plates in the parking lot and it being really slow. We didn't have to wait for anything. :confused3 We're going in November this year from the 10th - 15th. I do know I couldn't get an ADR for Le Cellier on the 10th, but that could just be the popularity of the restaurant and ADR's and not necessarily indicate crowd level. I'm thinking most Jersey Week people will leave the 11th or 12th. :)

We're doing a short trip from 11/15 - 11/18! Hoping for a very small crowd for my very short trip!

IMHO, that is exactly what you'll find at this time. We go with the kids over April/Easter (UGH!!) and DH and I took our first alone trip last Nov 3-7 and thought it felt deserted at times!! But actually, I think it was pretty much "average"--we were just so ussed to Easter week!! Have fun!! :goodvibes
