Hi everyone -
I'm looking for some advice about the weather at DW in mid-December. Family was down there last October, and it was still pretty warm for the first half of our trip, so I'm wondering what to expect Dec. 13-19th! I figure that it won't be stupid hot, but is it going to be cold?! Any advice on what to pack?? :laundy:

We went last year from Dec. 9-13th - mornings were cool (55-60 degrees), but not cooler than where I live (it was 18 degrees at home), and by afternoons it was low eighties usually, then evenings back in low sixties. I lived in my crop pants the whole time, wore a t-shirt all day and added a zip-up hoodie (thin) in the evenings. We've been later in December in the past, and usually start out with a sweatshirt and end up in shorts and t's by mid-day. But since we're from Southern Ontario, it's pretty warm compared to home, and we've walked around in shorts while the local Floridians wear gloves and scarves!!! Just pack for all seasons, one or two items of each and interchange them as needed - hopefully you'll catch a heat wave:thumbsup2

We were in WDW approx. the same dates. We had a few days that we wore jeans/sweaters all day, and added another layer at night. The nights are definitely cool, and layers are a must if you are out and about all day and into the night. We also had a few days of shorts weather and were very comfortable going swimming and hangin by the pool on those days. For the most part, it is the range of temperature through the day and evening you have to prepare for. Most of the time, the days are still quite nice. As the last poster said, you have to bring a little of everything and hope for the best. You can definitely tell who the Canadians are at that time of year - we are wearing shorts and the locals have winter hats and mitts on!!

There is a website www.wunderground.com that you can type in the city and the dates that you will be going, and it gives you the averages, as well as the highs and the lows and what types of chances you'll have for a rainy day etc. I find it very helpful.

It's always a crapshoot for November - February no matter what we all say about our trips. It's s a time when you have to pack a variety of clothing.

I've been a few times that time of year. Really varied. On a postive note the last time I went around those dates it was sunny and hot (late 70s, 80s) the entire trip.

However, it could be very chilly. As in sweaters. Heck, I've worn a wool cape at night on a November trip. You just never know. Bases covered unless you see a hot forecast.

No matter what it's such a beautiful time to go. I wish I could go that time of year every single year. It's magical.

Have fun!

Lisa

Travelled the first week of December.
For the most part our weather had been the same as posted; nice during the day but cooler in the evening. The coldest night (low 50's) was when we were doing MVMCP. The CM were joking that they added the cold for effect with the snow on Main Street.
