Hi,

We are thinking about trying a trip to Disney in February. Is this a good time of year to go? Will it be too cold to swim? How about crowds? This will be our second trip, first was in October.

Thanks! :-)

Isn't it always a great time to go? Seriously though, it shouldn't be crowded, but it will probably be too cold to swim. Too cold for me anyway!

Well, it depends on where you are from! If you are from the north you will probably be swimming and wearing shorts when the Floridians are in parkas! Seriously, we have been in Feb twice and had a mix of weather. Our first trip we lucked out and wore shorts everyday except one - temps were in the high 70's low 80's, and we just wore a sweatshirt and sometimes jeans at night. We swam several times. The second trip we wore shorts and jeans equally and swam twice. When it was cooler, it was in the 60's. Be prepared for any weather, you just don't know. On a few longer days I brought extra sweatshirts for nighttime and stashed them in a locker. We just dressed in layers and removed a few when the sun warmed us.

we are going in Feb too and I hope to be wearing shorts but am taking jeans just in case!!

We've been there twice in Feb (both mid-month). One day we would wear shorts and the next need jeans, hats, and coats. Be prepared for anything !!

Alex'smom: Welcome to the DIS. This is a great place to get information. We go to WDW quite often, but always learn something new here.

This is our favorite time of year to go. We are 45, 44, 22, 18, 11, 5 and have been there in Feb/Mar more than 10 times and other months at least another 10 times. Our children have been infants, toddlers and so on. Weather is sometimes hit and miss, but generally high 60's and low 70's; an occasional 80. We stay for 2-3 weeks so we never get an entire trip of cold weather. We swim always (all of us); either at the resort pools or at BB or TL. Usually one of the water parks is closed for refurb or just opening up after a refurb. The resort pools are heated; at least at POR. You should have no problem. Pack clothes for temperatures of 50-80. I can't remember ever having worn long pants at WDW, but have worn a sweatshirt or wind breaker type pull over.

The parks are usually moderate for crowds, but the closing times are still early except for an occasional weekend or weekday (9:00 PM).

Good Luck and have fun.

Last week of Feb first week in March for us.

Hey I will take Florida in February any day over Calgary in February! Bring it on...POR ...here we come!

ive been in febuary and u can pretty much swim year round all the pools are heated but its a little chilly when u get out it could be anywhere from 45 to 70 outside in florida in febuary so i cant tell u much but its pretty uncrowded then unlike it was this week on the trip i just got back from where we went from wearing coats to wearing shorts

We go every year in February and we love it. The crowds aren't bad. There aren't any lines usually. The weather is "iffy". It can be very warm or cold. Anytime is a great time. Enjoy

We are going in February, 2007 also. I too hope we can swim (well at least I hope the kids can swim...I can take it or leave it). February just HAS to be better than the last time we went. We went in June. We had 96 degree days and about one hour long wait times for the rides. I'd take a cold day with no lines over a hot day with lines anytime.

Don't get me wrong though. We loved Disney....even in the heat. It is the most magical place on earth.

P.S. I found some weather info. from last Feb. in Orlando. Hope it helps.

Feb. 8, 2006 - high of 63 degrees...low of 46
Feb. 11, 2006 - high of 75 degrees...low of 46
Feb. 17, 2006 - high of 79 degrees...low of 55
Feb. 18, 2006 - high of 81 degrees...low of 59
Feb. 20, 2006 - high in the mid 70's - with fog
Feb. 21, 2006 - high in the lower 80's - with dense a.m. fog

Well after reading all your threads I must say we've been really lucky as we've been to WDW for 3 weeks every February for the last 5 years and we'll be back feb 2007 and we've always had great weather. We're from brittany in France and although our winters arn't as cold as other parts of France February in Orlando is a bit like our summer months. We even leave our coats in the car at the airport before leaving and wear just a very very lightweight jacket and the only trousers (pants to you I think) we bring with us are the ones we wear for the journey as apart from them we only bring shorts and tee-shirts. Then again I suppose it depends what temperature you're used to but we've always been able to swim and always come home very tanned.

Yippee POR in 2 months!!!

We went the for two weeks in Feb 2005 and there were days that were in the 80's, a couple days that were cool and one day that was cold and we had to wear coats. For the most part we were in shorts and we did swim most days (even got a sunburn and I usually don't burn!).

It was extremely busy when we were there, but there was a cheerleading tournament, Daytona 500, Mardi Gras (alot of people from New Orleans escape to WDW at that time) and the superbowl (I believe - one of the big sporting events anyway) all going on around the same time so that may have accounted for the huge crowds.

We went last Feb (and are going again this year!)- I thought the crowds were heavier than early Sept (after Labor Day) but not bad at all. We only swam once but that was b/c we were just there for a quick weekend trip so we didn't want to waste any park time! But it was pretty chilly- we had to buy sweats for everybody (not a big deal- a nice soveniur!). Have fun!

We go in February every year because it is a great time to go. The crowds are smaller and there are about no lines. This year it might be a little busier because the superbowl is in FLorida again. But even with that it is still a great time to go. It is also cheaper. Enjoy

We are going the first week in Feb, and Im hoping the weather is cooler and less humid then when I went on my Honeymoon (10 years ago) and being as my hubby and I are from Upper Pennisula of Michigan orginally, we would use the pool at 50 degrees :rotfl2: If its any where from 60-75 Ill be in heaven!

as a canadian, did not know that Presidents day is a big week to draw crowds. we are going feb 10-16 thinking it would be quieter. Is the Presidents week busy the week before or the week after. Also with Daytona race on, will that make it much busier. I wanted to book as late in Feb before it got busy but maybe should have done it the week before??

President's day week is one of the busiest times at WDW. I have always heard to avoid that week, but if you must go then, at least it won't be 99 degrees with 100% humidity like it was when we went July '05. It was horrible (or at least as horrible as it gets at WDW--still my most favorite place on earth:love: ). We were in WDW last year the first week of Feb and it was unseasonable cold. They had freeze warnings for the northern part of Florida. That being said, we were comfortable during the day with a couple of layers (t-shirt and sweatshirt) then at night we wore hats and gloves. The crowds were great. We hardly had any wait at all.
