So how is Disney in February? The temperature, what’s open what’s not. Is there a better time to go than February? Any tips would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance. :sunny:

Avoid the holiday weekends. Other than that, it's a good time to go. Weather can be all over the place with temps. But wearing a sweatshirt usually covers that.

if you look on the wdw website it normally tells you month by month if an attraction is closed.
I found out on there that when i go on jan 20th till feb 3rd typhoon lagoon is closed

I've gone the last three years over the week for President's Day - NY teacher - we have the week off.
Weather - well it is "iffy" but always better than Buffalo! We've had one bad day each year but have also gone to Blizzard Beach and not been at all cold.
Crowds - some say it is bad that week but if far less crowded than spring or summer.
Prices go up just before President's Weekend.

My brother has gone many times during the first two weeks and loves the lack of crowds at that time.

We also are going in February from the 11th to 16th. I was wondering whether you purchase the parkhopper option for your tickets? We haven't yet. I know I don't have to decide that until we get there, right? Do you also purchase the waterparks, etc. option? Our son would really wants to go to Blizzard Beach. Thanks for your input. I can't wait to go in February. I know the weather will be better than here in Indiana during that time. :)

We loved going in February so much we're going again NEXT February.

Here are the main cons
1) Unpredictable weather, so you do have to bring clothes for all different seasons
2) There were a FEW things not open
3) If you are a beach or waterpark nut, you probably won't have prime weather for it - a little cool for swimming

Here are the Pros, in my opinion
1) Lowest precipitation of the year - it only rained 1x in the week we were there
2) Weather would be cool in the mornings, but typically by mid-day it was in the 60s, 70s, up to the 80s a few days!
3) NICE crowds - we walked onto most crowds. Got a little busy in mid-day but still very manageable

To us, the pros far outweigh the cons. We would have liked to hit the beaches, but weren't really that disappointed that we didn't have a great beach day (actually there was one or 2 decent beach days, but we had other things planned)

Watch the dates.....the prices and crowds will jump up right before President's Day Week (around the 16th). This year we went the 9th-16th and that was the week before PDW. Next year we are going Feb. 1-9 (staying an extra day this time!).

OOPS!

I meant to say we walked onto most RIDES, not crowds. I really need to proof my posts better. :)

We were there 2 years ago in Feb - we swam everyday (on site pools are heated.) I think there was only one day the adults found it too cool to swim but the kids went in. The days were t-shirt friendly but nights needed sweaters - we never had to go for anything heavier.

We were there in August of 2003 and Feb of 2005 and had
an oppurtunity to go this past August and my kids said no way!! We are going again Feb 07!! (2/18-2/24)

We really enjoyed the first week of February as well. We went Feb 1 - 9, and ditto to what the other posters said: no rain, sweatshirts only in the morning, NO lines. It's a great time to go, and the earlier in the month the better. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't February one of the months they're doing the Princess and the Pirates Party, too? That sounds like it would be fun. :)

This may seem silly but is this a jeans and tee shirts time of year or shorts and tee shirts but toss on a sweatshirt at night time? Just curious as we just had to change our dates to the first week in Feb.

Not a silly question, but a hard one to answer. If you look at the first post, you'll see that they experienced temperatures in the 60s, 70s, and 80s, which is the same range of weather we had. It makes packing tougher, but honestly, I think taking some jeans and some shorts is the smartest thing. And be prepared for colder weather, too, just in case.

Before we started doing AP's we always got hoppers. We love having the abillity to hit more than one park a day. As for the waterpark option, if your only gonna hit the water park once(and weather will be iffy at that time of year) it's cheaper to buy the one day wp pass. Have a great trip!!
