I am planning a trip with my husband and two little boys in early December. We are thinking about arriving on Wed, Dec 1st which is a couple of days after the Thanksgiving weekend. I want to ensure that the Thanksgiving crowd is gone. Does anyone know how many days after Thanksgiving we should arrive to ensure the crowds are light?

When speaking to the Disney agent they said that early December is moderate crowds and late December is extremly busy? Is is true that early December is moderate... I always thought it was supposed to be extremly light (similar to late Sept and October crowds levels). Any insight would be very helpful.

Thanks

Never traveled in December myself, if you post this on the Theme Parks Attractions and Strategies I am sure you will get some helpful advice :)

We've been in early December a few times. As long as you arrive after the weekend following Thanksgiving, you should be okay. We arrived once on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, and it was very crowded that weekend, less so on Monday, and by Tuesday was quite manageable, with very few people after that. In fact, we're going this year Dec 4-11 just for that reason.

Pretty bummed to hear it is still crowded the weekend after Thanksgiving. That's when we get there.

Thanks for the information!:wave2:

I'm just curious - I'm arriving the Sat. after Thanksgiving (I don't have any flexibility in my vacation time) and my countdown clock says 57 days. What day are you arriving? Your clock says 63 days, which is almost a week later than mine?

By the way, my SIL's family lives in Clark Summit - the Tuckers.

MaryKatesMom -

When I said it was quite crowded the weekend after Thanksgiving, I was comparing it subsequent days when the crowds were really thin. It wasn't wall to wall people by any means on the weekend, just lots more than later in the week. I've never been during high peak time, so I can't compare it to that, but it was manageable, as long as you expect it and plan for it. Just look forward to the likelihood that, in a few days, things will be a lot better.
