Want to know what to expect crowd wise in late December. We are thinking of visiting December 17-22. That close to Christmas are the parks REALLY crowded? :confused3

I don't think that it will be horribly crowded on the 17th (a Sunday), but as the week progresses, you'll see the crowds swell. By the 22nd (a Friday), it will be packed. That's because Christmas is on a Monday this year. Some schools will begin their break the week before the holiday. Some will not be off until that weekend. As long as you go with a plan, you should be okay.

We were there December 17th-26th, 2005 and really didn't notice any crowds until Christmas eve. We were expecting really long lines all week, but were pleasantly surprised. We were at the parks before opening. We stayed away on Christmas day because we knew they would be crowded.

My DSiL usually leaves on the day we get out for Christmas break and stays until Dec. 23. She says that it does not get crowded until around that time.

Thanks to all for the replies....my dd (5) saw the Food Network show about Disney during the holidays and is so excited to see the gingerbread house. I was just worried about the crowds at that time. I'm thrilled to hear that we won't be packed in like sardines.
