Day 3, Sunday December 7th
Me, Erika, 34, Disney obsessed for as long as I can remember
DH, Steve, 36, extremely tolerant of my obsession, loves Disney vacations
DS, Matthew, 10 ½, loves Disney World, tried many new things this trip
DD, Alexa, 7 (almost 8), as Disney crazy as I am
7 am, time to hit the shower, after a good nights sleep. The beds at the Boardwalk are very comfy, and it helps not having a kid in the bed too. Today we are off to MGM. Ive been dying for a ride on RNR forever!!! We decide to walk over on the path, instead of taking the boat. Its a very pleasant walk, but I dont think I could do it, after the parks. We arrive shortly after opening, and head straight for RNR. Dd will not try this one yet, but ds is going to give it a shot. He and dh go first while dd and I wait in the giftshop. The wait was a short one, just a few minutes, and they were done. I ask ds if he wants to go again ( I would go by myself if necessary) and get a resounding yes!! Off we go, we walk into the preshow again (no wait). I was so excited waiting for launch, this is my favorite ride of all time. Dh wanted to ride Tower of Terror after that, he couldnt convince any of us to go, so he went alone. The rest of us went pin shopping instead. I decided we all needed new lanyards. Ours were old now ya know LOL. I got a blue one with sorcerer Mickey at the bottom, Alexa got a purple one with Tinkerbell and Matthew got a blue one with Stitch on the bottom. Alexa bought herself a new pin too. I had brought a bunch of clearance pins from TDS for us to trade. My daughter is such a little pin freak, she had all hers traded in about 3 days. We dragged dd on the Great Movie Ride for her first time, I warned her in advance about the hijacking of our guide, she doesnt like surprises or loud noises. She hid when the alien came down, but otherwise she did OK. Ds and dh hit Star Tours for another walk on (the lines were so great early in the week) and then we grabbed some lunch. The boys went to watch the Indiana Jones stunt show, and Alexa and I went and met Pocahontas, Meeko and Mulan. The lines for the characters were way worse than the lines for the rides, we only stopped for the ones that were short. Alexa and I then made our way back to the Beauty and the Beast show. We have not seen this before, and we were determined to see it this time. Matthew wasnt interested so we went alone. We got there a few minutes before showtime, and barely got a seat. We both loved the show, and sang along. Very talented performers! When we were done, we met the guys and headed for the backlot tour. We always enjoy it, but its a little short without the house fronts to tour. We visited Sorcerer Mickey when we were done, somehow we have always missed him in the past too. By this time, it was already 3 and we had to be at Chef Mickeys by 5. It seemed we spent much longer days in the park than we have in the past. We headed back to the room for a brief sit, and to look for our Netgrocer boxes. Hmm, no boxes yet again. We hopped on the bus to the MK, and walked to the Contemporary for dinner. The waits for the busses were so short, we were at the Contemporary by 4:40. We checked in and got our buzzer, then hit the gift shop (danger danger LOL). There was a blue Mickey Jacket I wanted really bad, but they didnt have my size (there was a shirt at MGM with the same problem). This turned out to be the story of my trip, no matter where I found that jacket or shirt, no one had the jacket smaller than an XL or the shirt bigger than a S. We really enjoyed our Chef Mickeys dinner as always, the food was really good this time. They had bite size banana cream pies, so small they fit 1 slice of banana, they were sooooooooo good!!! We were almost the first ones seated, its so weird when its so empty. We got plenty of visits from the characters, including regular Mickey and Chef Mickey. Never seen 2 Mickeys before in there. There was a table next to us, with 3 young 20s or so Asian couples. They were great, they were having so much fun!!! They got so excited whenever the characters came around, and they all would jump up to have their pictures taken with them. They were so much fun to watch, that lady at the AK would have had a fit LOL. After dinner, we waited about 5 minutes, so we could ride in the front of the monorail to Epcot. It is breathtaking coming up on Spaceship Earth in the dark from the front of the monorail. Wow! My kids got co-pilots licenses this time (never been given those before), actually we all did, the lady pilot was so nice. We walked over to see how long the wait was for Test Track, and on our way we heard a loud crash sound. When we got there, the guy said it was shut down, and they were going to be sending people out. We asked what the crash meant and he said dunno, never heard that sound before, hope the riders have good insurance LOL. Since that wasnt gonna happen tonight, we just strolled back to the World Showcase for Illuminations. It gives me goosebumps every time I watch, and it wasnt from the cold (although we were all freezing!!!).
