Hi There

Myself and my other friend are looking to experience Disney next year. We are thinking of going around the 20th of August for 7/8 days, and want to cover Disney and Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure (Obviously not in great depth lol! :P)

I was hoping you could provide us with any advice on a couple of things:

- Firstly we are going on a budget, where would be the best place to find cheap Disney tickets? And do they offer discounts for students (always worth to ask!)?

- After having a quick browse of the on-site Disney accommodation it looks expensive, we are instead looking for cheap accommodation on International Drive. Do you have any recommendations of places to stay at? As we'll be spending the majority of our time in the parks, we aren't looking for a particularly luxurious hotel!

- As we'd be staying on International Drive we thought we'd get the I-Ride Trolley daily into the Disney parks - Is this the cheapest way of getting around without a car? Or would it be more financially worthwhile staying on-site, or getting a taxi, or hiring a rental car?

--

Sorry for all the questions! It's a lot to plan and we want to start getting our specifics sorted as soon as possible, so we can get around to actually booking the holiday

Cheers!

The cheapest place that I know of to buy tickets is undercovertourist.com. If you sign up for the mousesavers.com newletter they have links for a bigger discount at UT. There are alot of cheap hotels on idrive. Try using hotels.com or another travel website to find the best rates. The idrive trolley does not go to disney or universal. You will need to find a hotel that has a free shuttle. Or you can check the public transportation system for bus routes. Its called lynx.

Look into the Disney Value resorts. 4 adults per room. They have a lot of great discounts to stay on property right now including some free dining offers. You can use disney buses to get to the parks, and avoid parking costs. Then just drive yourself over to Universal when you want to go!

Thanks for replying :)

I've had a look on the Disney website, and did a quick search through their Value Resorts - And found their cheapest offer to be £1349/adult at the Disney's Port Orleans Resort Riverside - This includes free dining as well.

How good do you guys think this offer is? I assume the inclusion of the free dining is going to save us a bundle, and the costs includes flights from London Gatwick as well.

Checkwith small world travel as of today free dining is offered for your dates I booked my family today or call 407 wdisney. Online look for special website for the free dining I ask at Disneyworld.com on chat and they gave me a link to it

Port orleans riverside is a moderate level resort not a value resort. The value resorts are pop century and the all stars. There is an upcharge of $10 per night for each adult above 2 in a room. At the moderates its $15 per night.£1349 = $2106 per person. How much of that is for the airfare b/c I think thats alot per person for a 7 or 8 day trip.
