We need some good little boy character meals! Or any new character meals for that matter.
My DS3 wants to eat with pirates or woody/buzz. I can't deliver on either! What a bummer!
We have been going to WDW for years and have done the existing meals to death...need a change!

I know there is the one in DHS, but Handy Manny is the only character there he cares for. Oso is blah and he doesn't watch little Einsteins.

Come on imagineers...bring it on!

ps- If any disers have suggestions of restaurants he might like I am all "ears" :rotfl:
We will prob do T-Rex for him again.

I don't have any boys, but I agree - Disney needs more "boyish" character meals. I think the girls would even enjoy them! I think there should be a pirate / tink meal - that would make everyone happy!

I agree! We did Handy Mandy but we wanted more boy character meals.:goodvibes My DS2 loves Toy Story. I can see both boys and girls loving this one with Jessie being included too.:)

Maybe We should start a petition . . .

1) No way you can change things.
2) Disney knows where its money comes from.
3) And, it AIN'T the boys.
4) Parents will buy anything for their little princess. *

* Pay:
. . . over $45 for eggs and sausage with a princess
. . . over $65 for a fried chicken meal with a princess
. . . up to $250 for dress, hair and nails at BBB

* See
. . . the percentage of girls vs boys in commercials
. . . the percentage of souvenirs for girls vs boys
. . . the logo for Disney products

With two little boys, I AGREE!!! My boys would LOVE to dine with pirates!

I have been saying this for years. Even though my son is getting a little bit older now he still enjoys the character meals. I think DH would like it too!!:lmao:

I will buy anything for my little prince! We took him on the Urban Pirate adventure this weekend and he loved it. He would love to dine with Hook and Smee. Jake and the Neverland Pirates would be loved by him as well. I think Toy Story would be huge with everyone.

OT, but we just had dinner at the Rusty Scupper last night.

Please Please Please add Phines and Ferb to this list!!!!! They would have an awesome character meal.

My son is 17 and daughter 14, so although we still do character meals it really isn't about the characters anymore. However I have been wishing and wanting for years to dine with Buzz, Woody and the Gang. While this definately is something that boys would prefer more than say princesses, I know as an adult these are the Disney characters I would most like to dine with. Toy Story is such a successful franchise I would have to think a character meal would be very profitble. I can see Pirates do very good also. It would be nice to have some more choices.

100% agree little girls who want to be princesses is what Is known as low hanging fruit ie easy to sell to. As long as there are daddies willing to buy their little girl another dress even though they have a closet full already the princess meals will stay.

Boys will get one little sword and if they ask for another they will be told no you already one.

Disney also knows that little girls will stay princesses longer than boys want to be princes or pirates.

Why?

It's tough to go into a Disney marketing meeting and say I know we are making a boat load of money selling to little girls but let's take a chance and try something else.

I doubt anything will change (agree with the posts about Disney marketing more to girls for a reason) but as a mom of boys, I too would love some character meals that they'd flip over. Phineas and Ferb would be fantastic! Toy Story would also be a winner.

My kids loved the meals we had with Mickey and friends at Tusker House, and Pooh and friends at Crystal Palace, but they'd have been over the moon at Phineas and Ferb!

Phineas and ferb is a good idea too! My dd12 would even like it.

I am not asking for a total change in the marketing plan...justa few new character meals. It's not like they wouldn't be good sellers. Toystory would be as sought after as Cinderella b/c itappeals to a much broader audience.

Would love something marketed towards boys and you can be sure DH would pay for it. Rusty, are you telling me that Disney couldn't make huge amounts of money with a star wars breakfast or with woody and buzz or pirates? I think star wars coukd compete with CRT easily in popularity.

As a Mom of 4 boys I totally agree. Not that girls wouldn't enjoy the same character meals that are being suggested, but a family with just boys won't typically go to a Princess meal--I know my family doesn't.

I do feel shafted when we travel to Disney. We still love it, don't get me wrong, but as my boys grow, Disney is losing more and more of our $$...and a lot of it is/will be going to Sea World and Universal and Busch Gardens.

I can see they have tried somewhat to help with the Pirates League, etc.....but the huge gap between boy marketing and girl marketing is obvious and my boys notice it....."Mom, are we in Princess Land?" lol
