I know this has been asked to death but I'm still just sooo confused!! We are making our first trip,(and if it isn't our last, it won't happen again for a looooong time),to Disneyland this summer. We have been to DW a number of times and really love all of the on-site resorts there. We are DVC members and using points this summer. My problem is I just can't decide where to stay. If we stayed at PP we can get a park view. If we stayed at DH we would get either a park/dd view or pool view. ( I would not like the pool view so that would bug me if that happened) AND, if we stayed at GC we could get a DD view. 5 of us, three kids ds11, dd9, dd5. I would love any and all opinions!! Thanks!!

Go with the GCH DTD view. That's what we had and it was great!! We loved it, we really want to stay there again but we aren't DVC members so it's $$$$ for us.

We stayed at the DH once with a DTD view. I think we were on the 11th floor. (??) The view of DTD was great, and we could also see all the "mountains" of DL and into DCA. Plus, the sunrise over the REAL mountains was beautiful in the morning.

I would definitely choose the GCH with the DTD view. The hotel is beautiful, it's closest to the parks and IMHO something that really shouldn't be missed if you can swing the cost. Have a wonderful time!

I agree with GCH also, but if you could get the DLH with DTD view that would be great too.

Don't you just love your DVC:goodvibes . I have stayed in all three hotels and I would stay at the GCH, especially if you won't be back for awhile... I didn't care for the PP and although the DLH is nice, it can't beat the GCH. You are super close to both parks, you actually can go into DCA through the GCH if you are staying there. It's in the heart of DTD, just all around a great place.

I haven't stayed at any of them, but this is my thinking based on others...GCH is the nicest, but least "Disney" themed. DLH is the oldest, but a classic. PPH is the least expensive, moderately themed, but farthest walk. If I could afford it I'd stay at the GCH...but I'm a Hojo's w/entertainment rate kinda budget gal.

You cannot make a wrong choice between any of the three! Although I would probably recommend either the DLH or the GCH. The pool view at the DLH is actually quite nice (have gotten that twice and loved it). Since you are premium view, you will be put on a higher floor. You can see some of the grounds as well as the pool. The DTD view at the DLH is wonderful, that way you can see the fireworks every night which is a big plus.

I guess I am in the minority, but I prefer the DLH. The rooms are larger, Disney themed and the pool area is really nice. The GCH pool area is also nice but I found our room to be on the small size and a bit dark. The GCH also won't guarantee a bunkbed or daybed room which is not great for my family. Given the age of your youngest who may be in a pack n play or with your and your dh, that may not be a big deal. At the DLH you will either get a daybed or a free rollaway. If you need a third bed at the GCH and don't get the daybed or bunkbed, you get a sleeping bag. The GCH does have balconies in almost all rooms and that is a big plus. Its more on line with a WDW Deluxe although the DLH is also a deluxe level resort (and in fact so is PP).

That entrance into California Adventure via the GCH can be used by all onsite guests. It can save some time if you cut through there on your way in or out of DCA to the GCH or DLH. All three hotels are an easy walking distance to both parks. You will love the proximity and ease of getting around!

I love staying at the DLR hotels on points. That way I avoid paying the daily resort fee (about $12 add'l to your room rate), the high S. Cal sales tax and you will get free wifi in your room, athletic club privildiges and you will also get daily maid service. We have stayed on points four times at Disneyland and its gotten to be a good deal, far better than it used to be!

With whatever you decide, have fun on your trip!

I would go for GC even if you can only afford a standard view, it is a real nice hotel :)
