Disney Hotels cheap

The only way I really know of (unless you're part of a convention) is to get an AP rate when they come out with the specials. I'm not talking about the generic 10% AP rate, but the ones that give you a big discount like the current AP7. It saved us so much money, even factoring in the extra cost of the pass, that I bought an AP just to get the hotel discount. You don't have to have an AP to book a room at that rate, but you have to have one when you arrive (or add one to your hotel reservation). You can call and ask for the AP rate and decide whether or not it's worth it to you. Note that only 1 member of your party needs to have an AP to get the discount. Then you also get the added bonus of 10% off on most meals and merchandise.

The AP7 rate is the current AP rate and it is good. It lasts for most of December - not sure when the next rate is coming out though. You can call central reservations and see if any of the three hotels has any rooms for the AP7 rate available for your dates. If yes, you could book and add an AP to your reservation. This would also enable you to get 10% on food and other stuff.

What does AP7 mean?:confused3 I keep hear people mention it but have never had an AP. We are going in Dec for 2 weeks and are thinking about getting 5 APs so I would love more information. Thx

It's just the number of the current offering. The last one was AP6, one before that AP5, etc. The AP7 rate runs through fall until mid-December, I think. Last I heard, it was not available on the weekends in Dec but that may have changed by now. I'm not sure how it works if you're going for 2 weeks, but I doubt you could get all of those days at the AP rate, if at all. Are you looking at the latter part of the month? There are no AP7 rates and it's very busy then, so I'm not sure you could even find rooms at any rate for 2 weeks. You might be able to piece together a trip with some AP7 dates and some regular...depends on when in Dec and how much time you want to spend trying to organize it!

First thing to do is call and ask about the rate and availability. Ask about AP7 rates. If they don't have anything, then break it up into chunks and call back to ask if such-and-such dates are available. The trouble with piecing together reservations is that you have to put a one-night's deposit down on each one, so if you have multiples, it adds up. Not every CM will tell you this, but if you get some of your dates at a good rate you can have them put it on a 1-week courtesy hold where you don't have to give a deposit up front. If you can work the reservations out piecemeal, you can request that they put them together and then put a deposit down but they may tell you that it can't be done. Sometimes they will and sometimes they won't. In that case, you can let it lapse and look elsewhere or you can go ahead and put down a deposit for each reservation you've made. Do you know what I mean? Let's say it took 3 reservation calls to get all the dates you wanted at the best rates. You have 3 reservation numbers. If they put them together for you, you only need to give them 1 deposit. If they won't do that, you owe 3.

Edited to add: the 1-week courtesy hold gives you a week to figure things out before you have to pay a deposit.

depending on the dates you were wanting to go, GetAwayToday.com was running a stay the 4th night free promotion that we were able to use for our trip.
