Which resorts accomodate 5 people? It is me my wife and three kids 5, 7, and 9. We have stayed at PORS and the Dolphin. I tried the Swan once and they said we had to go to the Dolphin. I thought they were the same, but apparently the Dolphin's rooms are bigger. Do any of the other moderates take 5?

Thanks

We have stayed twice at POR with 5 people, myself, my parents, and my two kids (last trip the kids were 7 and 10). We LOVE POR! It has a very relaxed feel and you can catch a scenic boat to DTD instead of taking a bus. Also, the breakfasts at Boatwrights are the BEST I've ever had. I believe it's the only moderate which officially accomodates groups of 5 (I have read threads about others who have gotten a rollaway bed in other resorts, but we were told that POR was our ONLY option for 5 people in one room unless we went with Deluxe). The rooms in POR Alligator Bay section have two full size beds and one has a trundle which rolls out from underneath the bed closest to the door. I personally slept on the trundle a couple of nights and it was comfy enough. My mom forced me off the trundle and back into the bed with the princess of elbows and knees (aka my 7 yr old daughter). My 63 yr old Mom also thought the trundle was comfy. Other great features of POR include "legal" pool hopping to POFQ, yep you get twice main pools for the price of one, plus 5 quiet pools around POR and Bob Jackson the all ages Piano Man in the River Roost Lounge (he's a hoot).
Anyway I hope that helps some!

POR is the only moderate that sleeps 5, to my knowledge. I know that my in-laws stayed at the Swan with 5 in a standard room and a rollaway. The Dolphin's standard room is not that much bigger than the Swan. Really it's just a different layout.

If you felt a little cramped at the Dolphin with a rollaway, I'd recommend staying at Contemporary in a garden wing room. They are the largest rooms in WDW and they have a nice daybed that's as comfy as your twin bed at home. The location is great too. The CR Tower is great, too, but it's considerably more expensive than the garden wing.

We are travelling as a party of five in September. We will be staying at two connecting rooms at Pop Century. I was told that the resort would guarantee me the connecting rooms because we have more children (3) than adults (2). Since Pop is a value resort the price for two rooms is reasonable. Plus we get the added benefit of two bathrooms.

All of the deluxes sleep five...2 queens and a twin size day bed. Other than those, you are limited to either POR-AB or two rooms at a value resort. I would almost be tempted to get two rooms at a value and have two bathrooms, two televisions, and more drawer space.

Not sure, but a DVC might be a choice for you. :flower: Read thoroughly and decide. The accomodations are lovely.

A one bedroom has accomodations for 4 (huge master bedroom with king bed and whirlpool tub and a hide-a-bed sofa sleeper in the living room and a full kitchen, washer and dryer). :cool1:

Many people put a 5th person on a blow up mattress but you need to supply bedding and towels for the 5th person. :grouphug:

Thanks for the help. I thik I will just stick with POR and Dolphin for now. My wife is a teacher so the Dolphin is a reasonable price. We did stay in a value resort a few years back and my wife was not a big fan. When the kids get bigger we will need two rooms, but for now one works fine. I just wanted to try some of the other moderate resorts for a change. We really like POR, but I want to see the others. We have only been to Disney for one week-end trip in the past three years. We have had annual passes to Universal. Prior to that we had annual passes to Disney for a few years. We just wanted a change and went to Universal. We really did like Universal, but it is time to go back to Disney and we are getting annual passes again. We live a couple hours away so we will go 10-15 nights over 4 or 5 small trips. I would like to mix up the reorts some. We did stay at the contempory tower and poly a few years ago. So I might try contemporary again, but I am trying not to spend as much money as we have been. The kids are getting older and they like to go other places now. So theme parks are not our only vacation now.
