Hey everyone....

I am getting married in 10 days and was wondering if anyone knew of any special places in and around Disney that might offer a little extra for honeymooners?? If so should we bring our Marriage License with us. Any help would be great.

Hi JTessler! Welcome to the DIS!

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding and honeymoon!

It's kind of hard to answer your question because the "extras" depend so much on the cast members you come in contact with.

One thing you should do is make sure that the cast members know it is your honeymoon. Did you mention it when making your reservations and meal plans (ADR's)? If not, you can always call them back and let them know!

You can also purchase the "wedding ears". The groom ears are a top hat and the bride ears are a headband with a small veil. Wearing these can get you lots of attention (from guests and CM's alike). You never know when you might get some extra pixie dust!;)

Also, if you go to guest relations in the parks you can ask for the honeymoon pins (they're FREE!). Wear them and they can bring attention too.

What people have gotten varies greatly from a free drink, a "ride" to yourselves (i.e. your own boat on PotC or Small World), free desserts, a room upgrade, to heartfelt congratulations and good wishes.

Keep your expectations low and let the surprises come to you!

Congrats ! ! You could consider having dinner in Royal Table restaurant located inside Magic Kingdom castle. Make sure you mention you are newly wed when you make the reservation . We received free gifts (champagne glasses) at the end of the meal. They also decorated our table a little bit differently.

To answer the second part of your question, no need to bring any paperwork with you. In fact, I probably wouldn't bring it with you, to make sure you don't lose it or muss it or anything. They basically take your word for it. They're big on the honor system at WDW. :goodvibes

Have fun!

When we booked our first try at a DFTW I made all the reservations and told them it was our wedding trip. Well, we had to postpone the ceremony but we took the trip anyway. We kept 2 or 3 of the reservations I'd made. On the last night there we went to dinner at Tony's in MK and the waitress immediately asks which couple is here on their honeymoon. It was AWKWARD, but I was happy to know if it had been hour honeymoon, at least one of the restaurants was going to do something nice for us. But, none of the other places we ate that week that had the same note in the reservations did anything for us.

hope that helps set your expectations. Go and enjoy and a little pixie dust might find you.
