Hi all im new to the dis boards but not to the dis as have been down loading the dis podcast for years. Im hoping you can help me.

Both me and my mother have been to Disney 4 times now and love the excitement and the feel of belonging across all the parks but i have never paid for one of the holidays due to i was on low income until recent.

I have now booked 14 nights at the Swan (Again) and am not telling my mother until Xmas day. I am looking to put the holiday paperwork in a "Disney them" box with the planning dvd and any Disney extras i can find. I am now asking for advice on what i can fill the box with?

Im also after a 2011/12 Dvd as i cant seem to get one sent over to the uk

NOTE: i do have a learning dificalty and find it hard to spell.

Thanks all

What a lovely idea!
Some photos of the hotel would be good too.
You could buy her the Brits Guide to WDW or order the free planning book from Disney UK.

What about one of the beanie soft toys of Mickey Mouse, think they retail in about £6-7....might be a nice little extra!

Fabulous idea. Would your mum appreciate an invite to lunch somewhere? You could book the actual ADR as soon as your window opens, but do an invite now. There are some great designs on these boards. Or what about making T-shirts with iron-on transfers? I did some for MNSSHP last year and DH loved them.

Just an update on whats going in the box so far.

Our old room keys from last year
photos and post cards including the swan resort
all the booking papers
a collection of little Disney soft toys
Personalised iPhone case with A pic of the fireworks over MC
the little book frem the Disney web site
All of the dis podcasts on cd
a model of the new B787 we will be flying on

I work in a night club as a lighting programmer so plan to spell out "we are going to Disney" on the fridge before I go to bed (like on the uk advert)

Im loving all you ideas Thank you very very much!

How lovely! I'm sure your mum will be thrilled! Please let us know how it goes on Crimbo morning.

Hi to all not had time to come back on for a very very long time and im sorry..

I decided not to give her the box for xmas but to play along even more.

the holiday is booked and going to try and load the Disney planing dvd onto my ipad as i have told he that we are going to spain for 7 nights and when we get to the airport and she is looking for the flight on the screens i will then pass my ipad to her playing the dvd and say " sorry but your not going to be going to Spain but to Orlando again for 14 nights). The box is getting very full now and trying to stop myself from telling her is mad.

The travel agents have deleted my home number and only have my mobile number and no post will be sent to my home address so the only way she will find out what is really going on is when I tell her at the airport... I feel so funny for holding this back from her but she will love it.

Think i best get a drop resistant case for the ipad

Hope you are all well

What a wonderful, and special surprise!

I love your Disney box idea. I see that you are putting in mementos from your last trip. Have you thought about using those to make a Disney scrap book of memories from past trips and then adding the items for the current upcoming trip/any gifts 'loose' and separately in the box?

There are some very creative folk on here if you needed any inspiration who, I'm sure, would be only too happy to help you :goodvibes

With the amount of park maps ect i think i will have to make a book to go in the box alone lol.. found some from most of our trips dating from 1998. even got 3 draws full of the free A4 coupon books that I collected from the boxes along I drive when i was a kid. GR8 idea thanks, Top
